Slipknot Do One-Off Show, No Tour

It's bad news for Slipknot fans hoping that the band would tour U.S. clubs in late summer. The Las Vegas House of Blues has confirmed that Slipknot will be playing there on August 21, leading to some speculation over whether that gig would be part of a tour. But a spokesperson for the band says it's simply a one-off performance. At this point, the only other U.S. show on Slipknot's itinerary is a single Ozzfest appearance on August 20 in San Bernardino.

In related news, Slipknot have once again delayed the release of their upcoming, as yet untitled DVD to October 11th via Roadrunner.

ok, if you had just finished a 9 month world tour, your bassist is in the hospital, your lead singer is having major vocal problems, and the rest of the band is tired and wants to go home, would you continue to tour? If it were me, i would rather rest up and gibe my fans one hell of an awesome tour instead of a tired, half-assed piece of crap. You, my friend, are a f***ing moron!

They have made too many commitments to back out now, but once they finish this tour, they probably won't tour for a long time... which will just make them fresh for their next, and probably last tour.

Slipknot ought to kick up the intensity a notch or two on the next album, just to tweek the noses of those who are crying "sellout".... So they did a sing-songy record, which was in stark contrast to the first two Roadrunner offerings. Maybe the next album can balance the most interesting aspects of all their previous records.
