Mumakil Calls It Quits After A Long Period of Inactivity
After a long stint of inactivity, Swiss grindcore band Mumakil has started off the new year by announcing their disbandment:
Hello there. Wish we could start the year with better news but unfortunately it is time to announce that the beast is no more. MUMAKIL IS DEAD. Let's just say that the momentum is long gone. We have all moved on to new horizons. Thank you for showing up over all those years, thank you for the support, the headbangs and of course the hangovers! You are family. Grind on.
While promising new music in 2016, the band's last release was "Flies Will Starve," issued by Relapse Records back in 2013.

Three solidly furious, unrelenting albums between Customized Warfare, Behold the Failure, and Flies will Starve.
They certainly embodied the mid aughts trend of one-upping the heaviest, fastest, and most brutal bands of the genre of the time.
