Not a metal band by any defining characteristic but i like em all the same....

I hear its going to be more riffy than their last one which was kind of a let down compared to 'adrenaline', 'around the fur' and 'white pony'. it just sounded like they were rehashinhg old stuff except for maybe 3 or 4 strong tracks....i hear their putting out a b-sides/rare songs album out too, so i'm giddy about that if i havent managed to scoop those all up already....

so heres where everyone says "DEFTONES ARENT METAL!!!!....they suck, i hate em, god my life is full of anger that goes unvented!...GRRRRRRR....poor me......"

'Passenger' is the white pony song with Maynard...i remember hoping that song would be all heavy but i ended up quite happy with the kind of sweeping dramatic effect of it.....'White pony' was so diverse....thats what made it great....

If i had to pick a favorite though, i would say 'Around the fur' edges out the other 3 by just a nose....from "My own summer", and "lhabia" to "be quiet and drive", "dai the flu" "head up" and "mx" not to mention the high intensity hidden track....., it's the album to beat for the deftones in my opinion,a very tough act to follow.
