Megadeth's Dave Mustaine Considers Additions To Gigantour

Lead shredder and singer Dave Mustaine of Megadeth is considering several new additions for an upcoming North American tour; including Diecast, Dry Kill Logic, Otep, Overkill, Pain of Salvation, Taproot, and Symphony X.

Megadeth's "Gigantour" is set to begin in late July with Dream Theatre, Fear Factory, Dillinger Escape Plan and Nevermore. Dillinger Escape Plan will join the tour late, according to Mustaine's forum announcement, and the slot is as-of-yet still open. "There are still many more bands to review, and now I am waiting for their music to be sent."

The band also reports a possible Australia visit. Mustaine said, "It may not be with any of the current line-up of other bands, but at least we are starting the preliminary footwork."

A website for the tour -- named after a 1960's cartoon "Gigantor" -- will be launched next month. This six-week trek will likely be the band's final tour under the Megadeth name.

The thrash metal band were founded in 1983 by former Metallica guitarist Dave Mustaine.

Fear Factory is Awesome, Megadeath's last 4 albums blow chunks they suck, Nevermore is awesome band from my hometown, a great band.

Fear Factory should be headlining this tour, f*** Megadeath they sound like sh**..................

Dude,Megadeth does not Suck! okay,Dream theater sucks I'm a huge Metallica fan but Dave Mustain is a way better guitar player than James Hetfield and Kirk Hammet,at least Megadeth did not go and sell them selfs out! and hell yea Fear Factory should headline the tour but not Nevermore I only liked thier first album and if their adding Diecast,OverKill,Dry Kill Logic and Taproot that kicks a$$ along with The dillanger escape plan!,Luckly I hate most Nu-Metal and "Scream"Metal I love 80's and 90's Death,Thrash and traditonal Metal! Iron Fu**ing Maiden,Judas Priest,MotorHead,Sepultura and KIng Diamond!

dude, fear factory should not headline...i love fear factory, don't get me wrong, but they're not as good live as they used to be with dino in the band. i saw them once with him and it sounded a lot better. i love fear factory still, i just think they lack something that i can't put my finger on when i see them. megadeth or dream theater should definitely be headlining, and that's why they're both playing the same amount of time on the tour. and the tour is alright other then megadeth, dream theater, fear factory, diecast and dry kill logic that is. i hate dillinger escape plan, i hate otep, taproot was good, their last cd sucked, hopefully their new one will be good. and to the guy that said mustaine is better then hammet, you're sadly mistaken, yeah he's better then james hetfield, and yea metallica did sell out a LOT, but mustaine is not better then kirk, he's almost as good as him but not better. i love megadeth and older metallica but kirk beats out mustaine on his skill level if you ask me. either way megadeth i like more because they didn't change themselves and when the problem was pointed out as to why they changed, it was kicked out (dave ellefson or however you spell the d***s' last name) and then they returned to the old megadeth, if only metallica could do that! so if dillinger escape plan gets off the tour, and otep does too i'll be happier, cause dillinger escape plan is just a bunch of noise and they bring out the wrong type of people to shows. so do diecast though but what are you going to do...at least diecast sounds like music. hopefully dave will get smarter and remove DEP :)

You're forgetting that Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman practically shredded musically what Metallica did guitar-wise... (plus Lars Ulrich really blows)

I'm loving this tour...Megadeth is the sh**. Better than Metallica who gave us Master of Puppets and that's it practically. Then after that, all traces of Mustane were lost. Megadeth just kicks you in the a$$. Dream Theatre is a great band, too anyone who says otherwise is nuts.
