Greek black metal outfit Naer Mataron was scheduled to perform at the Turku Saatanalle Festival taking place February 3rd to 4th but has apparently been booted from the bill.

Several posts about the situation (primarily in Finnish or a mixture of languages) can be found at the festival's Facebook profile but it appears a difference in political or religious ideology is the reason for the cancellation. Naer Mataron issued this statement:

"To the Finnish supporters of Naer Mataron, those followers of the voice of truth, of the genuine representation of this Black Art which we follow and uphold: Concerning the cancellation of our appearance at the Turku Saatanalle Festival, we are not here to make any statements of apology nor ask for the absolution of our sins.

"Within a system that we anyway reject and refuse to believe in, we leave these tactics to those who aspire to a career of some short. With this text we are clearly stating that we will remain fiercely loyal to the Left Hand Path and that we will continue to represent the extreme side of our music, as it is manifested in the phrase EXTREME MUSIC FOR EXTREME PEOPLE.

"We shall keep spitting at the face of every aspiring master and small god who claims to be the pimp of a whole scene which has in reality, sadly, lost it’s way. We therefore declare that such pitiful actions are unable to stop us, and on the contrary, ignite a stronger fire within us, strong enough to unleash us back on the road soon, as genuine worshipers of the Noble and the True, of the Temple of the Radiant Sun. Hail Satan."
