Pity, some of Vinnie Pauls responses to those seeking his advice were not only classic and hysterical, more often than not, it was sound.
You could tell he actually cared enough to steer both kids and adults (sometimes writting from prison and mental institutions) in the best direction and there was always a comedic twist......He would close his column with "Eat more p***y"...sage advice, considering half the questions asked were relationship centered.
Now on the otherhand....Joey Jordison is pretty funny when he is interviewed, and he IS a drummer...thus the "hard hitting advice" bit can still be used by Revolver, which shouldn't matter, but to editors continuity is often up there with God.
So we'll see wha happens. It may well pale to Vinnies Column, but Jordison deserves a fair shot.

hey rememberMetal? are you saying girls dont like metal? there R TONS OF GIRLS IN THE METAL SCENE!!! OMC there r lots of girls in metal bands now, one i can name of the top of my head is opec, and there are two girsl and like3 guys commenting on this thing, stop being so sexist.
11. writes:
i meant otep not opec, i always do that.....(((one time i accidently called Pantera, "rivera" no one knew what i was talking about...)))..anywayz, theres another metal band too, i cant remember what its called but its got a girl on guitar....god what was it? i've seen the video like 20 times....what is that band called? well if i remember i'll post it on here.

My mistake. I apologize for my statement on post 8, but I've been to more shows than I can count and the heaviest bands see the fewest female fans.....Ozzfest has a ratio 89 to 1 of male to female attendance....this will get me all kinds of angry post responses but the year Ozzfest saw a significant rise in female fans was.....this hurts to say it...the same year Incubus were there.....2001 if memory serves........So let me re-phrase my stance here......male fans to female fans of metal is a very slanted ratio.....
For me it stands to reason that there are far more guys posting here than women.....I'm not saying thats the way it should be, I'm actually thrilled when I meet girls who are into metal. More than once I've been clued into a great band I didnt even know about until a female metal fan brought them to my attention....
So in closing: sorry for my thoughtless remark....secondly female metal fans are an extreme minority or I'd see more at least more than 3 girls at a Dillinger Escape Plan, Strapping Young Lad, Or Killswitch Show. Lastly "Opec" and "Rivera" are hilarious band names......
oh yeah and !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is still a bumbling idiot for trying to pick up girls on a metal forum....A.) it's not even a chat room... B.) it's not relevant and C.) no female metal fan would talk to a guy named !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well thats just my assessment.

Well I for one was not insulted.....It's TRUE theres 1,000 guys vs girls from small venues to festivals (not including Warped tour) for heavy music. Yes I am a girl, Yes I am a metal fan, No I am not there to be a c***sucking f***ing groupie. I also listen to VERY heavy music RememberMetal, including your precious DEP...but you are right...Theres like 0 girls and if you dont have a friend thats a guy or a boy friend half the guys start getting awful f***ing grabby. As for girls in metal bands more power to em, one of my fave guitarists is a girl.....Her name is Sharon Grzlenski she played in Five Pointe O an awesome Metal-core type band that broke up 2 years ago....And i'm glad bands like Crisis Otep and walls of jericho exist.....even though i'm not a fan of any of them...The playing field needs to be leveled abit.
anywho, just thought I would add my 2 bits. And no I would not let myself be picked up by some slarmy f***er trying to talk to girls on a metal forum by the name of !!!!!!!!!!! ^ ^

Well I for one would like to see what kind of advice the drummer from slipknot has to give....will he be more or less helpful (while being a little silly) like dimebag? will he be completely absurd and give the exact opposite advice from what would be advisable....we'll have to wait for the may issue i guess.
34. writes:
my boo boo "brokey", thanks for catching it....Was listening to Pantera while posting, and of course a solo was going on.....my teeny tiny brain goes "dime" "dime" "dime" so i put that instead of Vinnie.
The reason joey lacks the charisma of vinnie is mostly due to the fact that clown is kind of the leader of slipknot, sid is considered the nut-job and corey is the voice....joey is the next main guy is far as public persona.....he's also the voice of reason.....often overlooked when your in a damn circus of a band.

LOL comparing Joey Jordison with Vinnie Paul oh boy thatis a good one wow ..........lol whoa i might piss myself theyre not even on the same f***in level lol its a f***in riot lol slipknot is a better sounding gwar with fans imilar ot ICP in their religous following and stupidity lol

Yep, I can remember all the summers in my basement, AC turned up really cold, a bowl of cheetos, and Harry Caray and Steve Stone calling the Cubs game on WGN. Shawon Dunston would have a double and then steal third on a fly that Mark Grace hit towards the 3rd base line. Gary Gaetti would then put down a sac bunt and bring Dunston home. I miss that. I really do. And then there was the 7th-inning stretch. My favorite part of the game! Harry spitting into the mic, you could hear the spit too, that wonderful "scccchlinggggttt" sound.
Now there's Len and Bob. Man, if I ran the Cubs I would have never accepted Stoney's resignation, of course, I wouldn't do alot of things Andy MacPhail has done(or MacFAIL, as I like to call him). I would have had Sammy Sosa out of there quicker than he did, especially after the whining started.
Ok, now I've outdone myself again, if you would like to read more about this sort of thing, check out my site, http://baseballmadness.blogspot.com

their 2 fundamentally differnt drummers.....One is more full speed ahead the other, as blood born terror put it is more groove minded...Their roughly equal and i'm sure they could both play eachothers parts....it comes down to taste really...this joeys better no vinnies better sh** is like those arguements when your a kid "my dads smarter" "well my dad makes more $$$" "well my dads stronger"
childish

I think thats a we bit small minded there B-dub.....
Joey Jordison is phenominal and I don't even care for much of Slipknots material. Can you play better than Joey Jordison?....If you can then you have every right to say that.....But just because you hate Slipknot does not mean their drummer lacks talent.....
There are better drummers but their a minority compared to how many drummers he surpasses....I play drums on the side. For giggles. It's one of the most mentally and physically demanding roles in a band when you have to play with that kind of speed.....And theres very few out there who can play as he does...
But I know I can't change your opinion B-dub, but I'm just a bit surprised you would say something so obviously not thought out....
50. writes:
That is one of the hardest things to do.....for me anyway, to have a band you HATE...and then realize....f***, theres a talented guy in that mess.
Always blows my mind....and it's always hard to admit. Sometimes I wish I could gather all the talented band members in sh** bands and pool them into one awesome band....ill pilea list of great band members in crap bands later. adios.

Porc dont start tht whole he who hath not sinned shall throw th first stone, your argument is bullsh** because criticism is free minded. Just because I am not the president doesnt mena that my critique of his actions or policies isnt meaningful and is rather more frivilous. True the element of expierience is an excellent tool iwhen backing up a comment, but the expierence but in by these two can be easily expierienced when someone listens to them weighs and considers them then puts forth a judgement on them. The amount of consideration, however, is variable between people.

WOW.
Thats easily the most pontificating post i've read on this site in long while (post 52)....More a dogmatic lecture than anything.....though there is LOGIC to it....
Logic, great subject on metal sight, i must say......sigh
I think everyone here has something of merit to say but their so giddy about getting their message across that they're not considering key factors...
For one, back to where this came from: to say that Slipknot is sh** is an opinion....nothing more.....to say that Jordison can(or cant) play drums well is both fact and opinion....he can play.....he can keep a functioning rhythm.....BUT to someone like Gene Hoglan, Jordison is a student.....but for those who havent heard Hoglan, among other more skilled drummers...Jordison may be the best drummer EVER...
On tracks such as "People = sh**", "Three Nil" and "Eyeless" it's more than evident he can play better than at least 60% of the drummers out there behind a kit, and that is low balling it....I'm not defending any of Slipknots shortcomings merely one of there more capable players.
it's all subjective......
Lastly, everyone is aloud their opinion, whether it's woefully unfounded or not. But an unsubstantiated case is going to be riddled with verbel bullets by anyone with more than a 5th grade vocabulary and a chip on their shoulder.
56. writes:
LOL...aww, poor Porc (great nickname BTW)...everyones out for his blood, well at least Broken wings and wise guy, It's OK to wanna supergroup of sorts even if it lacks logic...."Whats WRONG with that?" is my question....
There've been some great super groups....particularly Cream, classic stuff....and they WERE for the most parts the best members of their respective bands. hehe...in my OPINION anyway, since we all seem caught up on those.........
If anyones making any sense around here....it's remembermetal.

Well..... I love both Pantera and Slipknot'ds music alot, and both have phenomenal double-bass drummers. , the only thing that actually can be disputed here is the change in column writers, so I guess the only thing to do is stop ripping off good drummers, and stop crying over spilled milk, coz Vinnie aint coming back to the column, so........
58. writes:
One thing about Joey that might get overlooked is that he is better on guitar than he is on drums, so bearing that in mind I'm sure that everyone will agree that he knows alot about music, also laying down drum tracks, producing an album (what he did 4 Otep) takes a whole lot of musical skill.
60. writes:
(shrugs) hehe, i dont know what derail means I re-read every post over and over. shes crazy.
Anway i agree with triplesix on the fact that they're both stellar drummers....I think theres more of a legacy in store for Pantera, and Dime walks (bad pun) all over the combined efforts of Mick Thompson and Jim Root....while their good, theres just comparing Dime to them, its actually funny to try.
I can (ussually) learn a slipknot song and play it in half the the time as a typical Pantera song....and lets just say there was some sleepless nights trying to execute perfect Dime solos. At 14, I started crying because I couldnt play the "Walk" solo and my fringers were purple and bleeding....I was a little crybaby. heh, hadn't thought about that inawhile...funny.
anway, i have to go attempt a dime solo for ol times sake, and fail miserably, take care good people.

Just like the old pope, unabashedly conservative and a traditionalist.
(i hail from a catholic family before the "who are u to judge?" responses arrive)
and went to a catholic grade/high school...some might say it's what drove me mad and toward propulsive music....entirely too much hypocrisy prejudgemental antagonism.
Then the whole with us or against us, birth control is the devil, homosexuals are demons, and the lunatic contradictions of the old and new testaments.....rather than pretend to subscribe to something that I disagreed so whole-heartedly with I got out of that line of faith....so now i live happily in sin with my girlfriend of 3 years also in a similar religous boat as myself.
So since the new pope is pretty much the same closeminded hardliner as the last (and I know Ratzingers past) I think very little of him. But to those who are devout Catholics I'm happy to hear they have a new leader who is in better health than the old pope, he was looking pretty exhausted these last 10 years or so. Hopefully he can preach kindness and tolerance rather than disgust towards those who are different from himself.

wow, remembermetals p***ed.....perhaps justifiably,
Anyway, organised religion really isnt my thing but from what I've gathered they take on the namesakes of saints and other significant christian/catholic figures in an attempt to signify who they wish to model their goals after.....theres more to it, but B-dub prolly does have a better or more complete answer for ya blackdog.
73. writes:
RememberMetal?, I know where you're coming from, I have a Catholic family, but I'm not really one of them. Birth Control isn't the devil, but not it's not necessarily good either. Abortion is still a tricky issue, as is allowing women into church roles that don't imply being a nun.
The new guy, Benedict XVI, has got high morals, which is very good for the church, especially good because he has the same as the previous Pope, so it's good that they have him, now I don't know if he'll be as tolerant of other religions as John Paul II was, but we can hope. He said that he'd try to be tolerant, which is a good start.
Blackdog, actually, I don't know why they change their names, it's been a 700 year tradition that's never been broken, all I know is that the person chosen Pope gets to choose their new name. Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger chose the name Benedict XVI. Benedict means "Blessed."
Some think that when they change the name when they become Pope it's as a sign of a rebirth into a new, higher position, kinda like when they become Cardinal, they add "Cardinal" to the middle of their name, Ex: Francis Cardinal George.
I'll see what else I can dig up on this name thing.

i tend to think of a pope in the same way i think of the royal family........more of a figurehead than a position of power....though every now and then the pope is doing something of some worth, if he isnt screaming about the evils of condums and birth cntrol pills.

One more thing to brokenwings13:
You might be interested in the fact that when I say "f**kers" I don't always mean it in an insulting way... it's really just how I refer to people... I curse a lot when I speak and it travels over to my comment on this kick-ass website. None of these f**kers really give a sh*t though... Maybe you should get laid... maybe we all should! A lot of the f**kers I get into it with on this site probably wouldn't be so wound up if they did!
