So, I guess I'll be the first to state what others may be too afraid to say...
This new Tool album sounds like crap!
The drums weren't that bad, but no where CLOSE to the level of Danny Carey. What's with the electronica? Adam's video is decent, but is just a throwback to his old stuff and doesn't break any new ground. If I wanted to re-watch Sober video, that's what I would have done. The guitar and bass were just a bunch of down-tuned simpleton riffs. Gone are the inventive soundscapes and intricate bass/drum interplay so prevalent on other Tool releases.
And finally we have the whiny vocals. Corey Taylor guesting on a Tool song? Man, they have really sold out.
If I didn't know any better, I'd swear this was a Korn song set to a Tool Video.
