Iceland's Skalmold will release the new album "Vögguvísur Yggdrasils" on September 30th via Napalm Records. However, you don't have to wait to get a taste of this viking masterpiece, because today the band has teamed up with Metal Underground.com to premiere the lyric video for the new track "Niðavellir" (or "Dark Court" or "Dark Dwelling").
A stunning and winding trip through Norse mythology awaits on "Vögguvísur Yggdrasils" - and the best travel guides are and will always be Reykjavik-based Viking metallers Skalmold! The band has already proved through three albums (the latest effort being "Med Vaettum" in 2014) that its members are rather well-versed when it comes to Odin and his lot, but now the Icelandic sixpiece delves into the Nine Worlds from Muspellsheim (fire) to Nifelheim (ice) - all held together by world tree Yggdrasil. The perfect backdrop for the fifth longplayer by these genre heavyweights that smoothly moves from highly melodic and epic Viking metal to picturesque folklore. Odin owns ye all!
The track list for "Vögguvísur Yggdrasils" is:
1. Múspell
2. Niflheimur
3. Niðavellir
4. Miðgarður
5. Útgarður
6. Álfheimur
7. Ásgarður
8. Helheimur
9. Vanaheimur

Yet another amazing song from all of you! Your album is my most anticipated for 2016. It is my great hope that fate brings you to the United States soon. May fate also bring you to perform with the symphony again one day. Absolutely my favorite metal/symphony performance of all time!

After listening to this song it made me want to take a sh** really badly. I tried my best to hold it in, even tried pushing it back in with my finger (such a great feeling!). But the video was so bad it made it impossible to hold it in any longer that it came out with such thunderous force the water splashed up the bowl like a Tsunami!!
