Family Inks Deal With Prosthetic Records
Prosthetic Records just inked a new record deal with NY outfit Family. The label had this to say about the new deal:
"Brooklyn’s Family has been wowing audiences since 2011 with its unique and earnest blend of classic rock meets modern heaviness, alongside a healthy dose of behind-the-beat New Orleans groove and progressive rhythmic patterns. The band has embraced an amorphous collective approach, enduring lineup shifts that have continuously evolved its sound. Throughout the process, previous members have maintained involvement, contributing to live performances and forming offshoot bands together.
"Prosthetic will release Family's sophomore album 'Future History' this summer. A teaser video can be seen below, with more details coming soon. The band will play at Webster Hall in NYC on March 29th with new labelmates Scale the Summit and North, along with headliner Intronaut, and is also confirmed for the 2016 Psycho Vegas festival in late August.
"Family's electrifying debut 'Portrait,' a concept album about a dysfunctional family that develops supernatural powers, was released in 2012 on Robin Staps’ (The Ocean) label Pelagic Records (Cult of Luna, Mono, The Ocean). 'Portrait' was produced by bandleader Steven Gordon, engineered and mixed by Justin Mantooth at Translator Audio (Unsane, Cave In), and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (Mastodon, Baroness, Torche). The same production team has reunited to create 'Future History' as well."
