Marilyn Manson-Inspired Killer Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison

A Scottish teenager convicted of killing his 14-year-old former girlfriend after drawing inspiration from paintings by Marilyn Manson was sentenced to a minimum of 20 years in prison for her murder, according to Scotsman.com.

Jodi Jones (photo), 14, was stripped, tied up and savagely stabbed to death in woods near her home in Dalkeith, Midlothian, on June 30 2003.

Her death bore similarities to the gruesome "Black Dahlia" murder of 1940s Hollywood actress Elizabeth Short.

Marilyn Manson produced paintings depicting the "Black Dahlia" killing and Lord Nimmo Smith said he believed Luke Mitchell (photo), 16, carried the images in his head when he murdered Jodi.

The judge said he believed Mitchell "found evil attractive" and thought there might be a "perverted glamour in doing something wicked."

He said, "I do not feel able to ignore the fact that there was a degree of resemblance between the injuries inflicted on Jodi and those shown in the Marilyn Manson paintings of Elizabeth Short that we saw."

He said Mitchell's cannabis use may have contributed to him not being able to make the distinction between fantasy and reality which would have stopped a normal person carrying out the attack.

On January 21, a jury of eight women and seven men found Mitchell guilty of the murder charge 24 hours after beginning deliberations.

The 15 jurors also convicted Mitchell of supplying cannabis.

Corruptsociety is right. Manson had nothing to do with the crime, they just have to name him for a resemblance so it can get publicity. Just like Columbine.

Yesterday, in South Carolina, a 15-year old boy was convicted of first degree murder and got 30 years in prison, no parole, for killing his grandparents when he was 12! He was on Zoloft, an anti-depressant that has a similar reaction like cannabis does. A child of an age like 12 or even 16 can have side affects that alter judgements and state of mind. Your brain isn't developed enough at either age to comprehend what is happening, and with the hormone rage of being that age can also screw with the medicine the kid is taking, giving it a different reaction. These subverse reactions can cause something like murder to happen.

But, the boy in Scotland had intent. You can tell by how the girl was killed. Where as the case of Chris Pittman in South Carolina, he had intent, but not to go that far. Especially if he was only twelve. The connection in his head was different that a 16 year old at the time.

What is the youth of this world coming to?
