The news of iconic Motorhead front man Lemmy Kilmister passing away last night hit the metal world like an atomic bomb, leaving many wondering if the band would attempt to continue on with a different vocalist.
For those concerned no one could fill Lemmy's shoes, you won't have to worry about a sub-par Motorhead experience. Drummer Mikkey Dee confirmed to Expressen.se in a phone interview that the group is disbanding. Excerpts from the story follow.
The band, founded 1975 in London, will cease touring and record no further records after Lemmy’s death, according to Mikkey Dee. ”We won’t be doing any more tours or anything. And there won’t be any more records. But the brand survives, and Lemmy lives on in the hearts of everyone.”
"He was terribly gaunt, he spent all his energy on stage and afterwards he was very, very tired,” Mikkey Dee says. ”It’s incredible that he could even play, that he could finish the Europe tour. It was only 20 days ago. Unbelievable.”
Fan-filmed footage from that final Motorhead show has come online and you can check it out right here. Many metal bands have also posted their favorite memories of Lemmy since news broke of his death - check out a run down of those personal experiences with the Motorhead legend at this location.

WHY THE f*** would you even have to ask if motorhead was over or not. Lemmy was Motorhead. Motorhead was Lemmy.
I guess the queistion had to be asked because of the dumb backwood cousin f***in Pantera fans that think a pantera reunion is possible.
oh yeah, their is that greety jew who somehow got death back together without chuck
BUT STILL everyone should be smart enough to know motorhead has way more class than that
