Dawn Of Ashes Rises Again After Urilia Spin Off
After disbanding and reforming as Urilia, Dawn Of Ashes is now back in its previous incarnation. The band comments:
"Dawn Of Ashes is proud to officially announce their resurrection… but first, we want to provide an explanation for the events of the past year. Fans who have stood by Dawn Of Ashes over the years deserve to know the reasons behind the band’s dissolution in 2014 and their reformation as Urilia.
"Following the release of the acclaimed 2013 album 'Anathema' we had reached a new creative peak, and the decision was made to seek an even higher profile under a different label and management. These new alliances prompted some business decisions which we realized were wrong for both the band and our fans.
"At the insistence of this label, Dawn Of Ashes was retitled, and the new project incorporated elements of extreme metal with a lyrical exploration of the Left Hand Path. While we still stand behind the quality and significance of this project, repeated attempts by the record label to dictate our creative and business practices threatened to undo the hard work and Kristof and his fellow artists have put forth for nearly 15 years. To correct this situation, we have formally severed ties with the label, and Urilia will be laid respectfully to rest after a brief but memorable time on Earth.
"From that ending, Dawn Of Ashes will rise again in 2016, both in name and power, and with a renewed purpose that unifies the philosophy of Urilia with the sonic aggression and horror-inspired lyrics that DoA fans have embraced from the very beginning.
"As of this post, we have joined forces with Metropolis Records, and we are currently at work on a new Dawn Of Ashes album, bearing the title 'Theophany:' a word which signifies the manifestation of a divine being. We are keeping most details under wraps at this early stage, but we can reveal that 'Theophany' will incorporate the electro-infused metal of 'Anathema' with the epic scope of our 2010 melodic death metal release 'Genocide Chapters,' with new elements that will take their sound and themes to the next level."
