Commentary on the Slayer/Chimaira/American Head Charge show in DC

Since I don't have any place to post reviews yet, I just want to take a minute to share my thoughts on the Slayer concert at the 9:30 club in DC last night. To start, Chimaira was a good opener. American Head charge was ok. Both had a little too much background noise, but the latter was often ear-piercing.

When Slayer took the stage, I realized what I had really come to see within the first 30 seconds of their first song, Disciple. They put on an amazingly intense, and at times overstimulating, show. It was painfully obvious what four great musicians can do compared to the previous 6+ member bands. I've also NEVER seen the entire floor as crazy as it was when Slayer played. Slayer is not my favorite band, but I think they are now my favorite live performers - the show was that good.
