Venom's Cronos: "Black Metal Is A Very Dated Album"
WDR has a new video interview available online with Cronos from Venom shot at the Rock Hard Festival in Germany.
The full 14 minute chat can be seen below, but this nugget in particular may be of interest to fans who idolize the 1982 "Black Metal" album, as it seems the band realizes how dated it is and prefers more recent material:
"Back then people didn't understand the music. There's a lot more hype around that album. We've had kids coming up to us and saying, 'I don't like 'Black Metal.' It's a very dated album, and unless you're from that period, it's difficult to get into. That's why we play some of the songs live — so people can understand it. But I prefer the newer stuff anyway."
Venom released latest album "From The Very Depths" (reviewed here) earlier this year.
