I grew up with Jon and ran lights in his first band "Fren-Z". I knew him well and we shared many good times. Jon was a good friend and in my opinion, a very underated guitarist and musician. I always made it a point to try and see him when he performed with "Stiff" and "Lillian Axe". Gone too soon but always remembered. I never met his wife or daughter but he spoke highly of you both. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. Remember Jon and keep him in your hearts. R.I.P. my dear friend.

So sad to hear this! I didn't know him at all, but met him several times at their shows. He was always my favorite member of the band, because he was always so friendly and happy and seemed to really enjoy hanging out and talking with the fans.

Does anyone know what happened? Was he ill?

I a knew Jon since the early eighties. I met him at Cardis in Houston when he was in Stiff. He was a fun fantastic guy to be around. I saw him after I moved to NYC in the 90's in Lillian and then again in LA when I moved there in the 90's. I really fell hard for this man and he was my first heartbreak. I've only had a few in my life and he was definitely one of them. I'm shocked and saddened by his death. Im glad he found Nikki and I wish only good thoughts for her going forward.
