"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Statement On Album Delay And Tour Vocalist Posted By Darkology

After a period of silence since releasing details on the sophomore album "Fated to Burn," Texas' Darkology released both a statement on the album's delay as well as announced that vocalist Kelly Sundown Carpenter will not be able to accompany the band on the upcoming European tour with Overkill, Prong and Enforcer.

As to the album delays, the band posted: "This comes from PRIME EON MEDIA: People. We know that you've been complaining about the lack of updates and we are extremely sorry about that, but the news we are about to unveil through an imminent press release, will probably put a lot of things into 'some' perspective. There will be a clue about the album which is obviously coming out. It was never our intention to delay it, (why would we?), although, we managed to do a hell of a job at just that. We understand your frustration, but by being impolite or just taking it out on us, it's not going to help at all. We hope that most of you should be able to come and check the band out live, throughout Europe, in support of the great lineup of bands that Killfest 2014 brings together, namely the Kings of Thrash, Overkill themselves, the masters of groove, Prong, the young pretenders to the throne of trad metal, Enforcer and you know who...."

In addition, the band issued a statement over the past weekend about vocalist Kelly Sundown Carpenter and his unavailability for the upcoming Killfest Tour:

"Kelly Sundown Carpenter, recently informed us that he would not be able to commit to the 'Killfest' tour with Overkill, Prong and Enforcer because of personal reasons, but has given his full blessings for the band to find a substitute so as not to disappoint the fans. An extremely capable vocalist has therefor been selected to step up and handle his parts on the forthcoming tour.

"We will be making more announcements concerning his identity shortly but just to give you all of you people some peace of mind, here is a sample of this "mystery" vocalist attempting "Nobot" at home VS the original album version of "Nobot", probably one of the toughest songs to sing in the Darkology catalog, for your consideration. (As if there are (m)any "easy" Darko songs vocally !)

"Original Nobot :

Nobot Demo with "Mystery Vocalist" 2014:

"We did contact a couple of better known people in the business, but the stars didn't align and as soon as we heard a couple of "demos" by this guy, that were done in a couple of days after we asked him, mind you, we were "sold". Actually, we think he's one of the better vocalists in Europe and out there in general at this moment with great range and pitch but also a fantastic sense of melody as well and collectively believe that he will make for a great substitution.

"He has helped us to pull through and avoid taking the extremely uneasy and regrettable decision that we would otherwise have to take and would have been to pull out of the tour. The tour must and will GO ON with Darkology firmly in place, just with an alternative lineup, that however, ROCKS just as much as the original !

"And to answer the million dollar question ...

"In their live set, the band will be featuring songs from both of their records, including their upcoming CD, 'Fated to Burn'.

"An extended play tour EP featuring some of the new songs with Kelly Carpenter's vocals as well as some exclusive "surprise cuts" will be available at the shows, with the full 'Fated To Burn' CD (which was originally planned to be released to coincide with the tour, but had to be pushed again back after we found out about Kelly's inability to tour) being released in very early 2015, as narrowly missed out, on a pre X-mas release date until we could figure out a replacement for the tour.

"Things, after that should all be put into perspective and provided that the forthcoming tour is the roaring success we hope it will be and we 're pretty sure YOU will help us make it, by lending us your support we 're actively pursuing a Spring 2015 tour as well that is still being discussed and hopefully after that the festivals, will have also taken wind of this great "little" band as well. We've been told that there will be extensive coverage of the tour by one of the premier German magazines, so that's pretty cool ! All you German fans, look out for that and send in translations of the reviews - when those come in !

"Thank you for your attention. We understand this may come as a bit of a surprise to you, as it came to us, but we wanted to try and find the "best possible solution" out of a "sticky situation". We would appreciate your continued support. After the tour and the album release everything should be a lot smoother. Sorry for the "radio silence". You should be getting a relatively healthy amount of updates from now on."

More information is expected soon.
