Moonspell Checks In From The Studio

The Portuguese gothic metal band Moonspell - which was covered in our Sunday Old School column this Summer - is already in the studio working on the follow-up to "Alpha Noir" (reviewed here). The band comments:

"Working hard under the wing of Mr. Jens Bogren, our producer of choice. A true pro, restless until he finds the right note and beat.

"It's been great so far. We are moving to Sweden pretty soon to record this gentle beast at Fascination Street studios. More info and more pics soon. Inferno studios, Portugal. Today."

Day of release purchase, as always.

Almost every album from "Darkness and Hope" to "Alpha Noir" have all fallen somewhere between good and classic. I could take or leave "The Antidote". "Memorial" is the benchmark but every album since has had some incredible songs.
