Stone Sour Splits With Guitar Player Jim Root

Stone Sour - which features Slipknot's Corey Taylor - has issued the following announcement about splitting with the band's guitarist:

"As some of you might have heard by now, Stone Sour and Jim Root have indeed parted ways. We were trying to wait until the completion of the new SK album, but in light of recent events, we are going to confirm this information and move on.

"We feel it's best for both bands and hope that is reflected in the days to come. We will give you more information when the time comes."

In related events, Jim Root also missed Stone Sour shows last year to focus on the impending new Slipknot album.

The rockstar corey taylor who killed his 8 character along with the band with his self indulgence is again on the loose.
He shut out one friend in jordison now he's not appreciating probably one of his better friends and best musician he works with in root..
Solo albums, a book on his dirt on the bands, parts in movies and more verbal trashing of musicians are on the horizon.

^How very juvenile and full of assumptions.

On a brighter note, I'm still eager to hear some new Slipknot. Stone Sour themselves will most likely be fine, based on their popularity alone.

How is reading what taylors been apart of the past 5 years, the moves hes made, the comments hes made, the watering down the bands material to appear more rock friendly to satisfy his own needs, likes or taste, the fact that grays wife testified in court that none of the band members were there to help paul most of the time with his addiction, and taylors one of those members, the fact hes fired 2 members of both his bands because they didn't meet his expectations when it should be about the bands, how is reading those tea leaves the last 5 years juvenile. .

Did you ever think Root just doesn't want to be in stone sour anymore. He's been touring nonstop for 15 years. Maybe he wants some time off. Two successful bands, he's not hard up for money. His free time is probably what's important. I'm not trying to defend Taylor. This just makes more sense.
