Mayhem Members Arrested In Holland For Trashing Hotel Room

Members of the legendary Norwegian black metal band Mayhem and their road crew were arrested in the Netherlands early this morning after the entire contents of their hotel room in Tilburg had been destroyed.

The group had given a performance on Sunday in a cafe in Tilburg and had booked a night at Hotel Central. Monday morning an employee of the hotel found a big mess. Plants were thrown on the street, mirrors, a sink were broken and strips in the bathroom were pulled off and demolished. The beds and television were destroyed and walls were covered in spots.

The hotel estimates the damage at least 5000 euro. The men, aged 21 to 45 years, are from Netherlands, Norway, Finland and France. The suspects remain tied to a compensation of the damage dealt.

Scary, they must of been really angry, upset at someone or something to set them off, that way. Frightening to say the very least. Living up to the name Mayhem perhaps?...who was the guy at the Hotel that thought renting a room to a Black Metal band called Mayhem was a good idea in the first place?...he should be sterilized to prevent further tainting of the gene pool for starters, not to play Devil's Advocate, the band(or whoever in the entourage signed the paperwork) is going to have it "broken off" in court. The unoriginality of the entire angle is a snore fest, the least they could have done was spray-painted some pentagrams and stuff on the walls or thrown blow-up dolls out the window.(we all know they probably take several on tour.) I for one think that they could have truly done a better job for the media coverage, I'm downright disappointed there was no mention of blood...WTF is Black Metal without Blood?...sorry guys...complete and udder FAIL.

I like Mayhem but this behavior is ridiculous. How can people 'back this up' by saying it's funny or that it's tradition? If there is anything that Metal has taught me, it's to question tradition.

It's normal that they got arrested for this. If a non-Musician did it that's what I would expect as well, and so should the rest of you. It's good the members of Mayhem didn't get any special treatment, otherwise, they'd be celebrities, lol.
