Darkest Era Completes New Album
Northern Ireland metal band DARKEST ERA has recently completed work on their forthcoming album, "The Last Caress of Light," and have issued the following update:
"It is with great pleasure that we announce we have finished work on our debut album; to be titled The Last Caress of Light. The album is a work of dark, stormy, epic heavy metal that we are proud to release upon the world. Chris Fielding did a fantastic job in capturing the Celtic atmosphere of our songs while bringing out our heavy metal influences from bands like Warlord. We are very excited about it" comments vocalist Krum. Guitarist Sarah Wieghell adds; "It has been an incredible experience recording our debut album for Metal Blade, the songs came out better than even we were expecting. I think we've made a really strong record to be proud of, I can't wait for people to hear it!"
Darkest Era Issues Studio Report
Guitarist Ade Mulgrew of Darkest Era has issued the following update from the recording studio:
"Here’s a very short update from Foel Studios in Wales where we are currently hard at work recording what will be our debut album. We’ve been here a few days now and everything is running very smoothly with Chris Fielding at the helm. The studio is well renowned for it's warm production and analogue facilities and has been used in the past by everyone from Porcupine Tree to Primordial, Hawkwind, Napalm Death, The Wildhearts, and many more.
"In total we will spend 2 weeks here putting everything we’ve got into trying to capture on record, the Celtic metal storm, that has become our sound over the past number of years. More updates to come."
Darkest Era Signs To Metal Blade
Metal Blade Records recently teamed up with Alan Averill 'Nemtheanga' of Primordial for distribution of his label Poison Tongue Records. U.K. act Darkest Era has now issued the following update about signing to the label:
"It is with great pleasure that we can finally announce we have signed a worldwide deal with Metal Blade records! We have been working closely with them over the past few months in settling a deal, aided by Alan Averill of Primordial in his new A&R role for Metal Blade. We are wasting no time and will be recording our debut album on the 26th August, with a release date to fall approximately on the turn of the new year.
"The only details I can give so far are that there will be 8 tracks of the epic, soaring, celtic laden melancholy that we've been developing over the past few years. There will be a few re-recordings from our EPs, and one entirely acoustic track. It's a big step for us but one which we feel has come at the ideal time; we are really ready to step onto the international stage and forge on with the passion and fire that has led us this far.
"We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us so far: our Irish fans who have been behind us since the Nemesis days; all our European fans and those further afield who bought our CD's, who sent us many messages of support and have championed us in their respective countries; and to those we have met on our travels, shared a beer with and sang a song with. We will almost certainly be touring widely in support of this next year. Germany, Greece, Italy, we shall return! The rest of you, prepare for a heathen invasion!"
