James LaBrie Announces New Album
After his "Static Impulse" release in 2010, Dream Theater frontman James LaBrie returns with a new studio album entitled "Impermanent Resonance," to be released August 6th in North America and July 29 in Europe via InsideOutMusic.
"Impermanent Resonance" was once again conceived with LaBrie's songwriting partner for over a dozen years, Matt Guillory. Guillory not only took the leading role in composing the material, he also handled all of the keyboards and background vocals.
The album's lineup is intact from the previous recording, featuring Marco Sfogli from Italy on guitar, Ray Riendeau (Halford, Machines of Loving Grace) on bass, and Swedish drummer Peter Wildoer (Darkane, Majestic, Arch Enemy, etc.), who was a finalist in the Dream Theater drum auditions. Additionally, former Soilwork guitarist Peter Wichers came into the fold to contribute songwriting and studio guitars. More...
James LaBrie Cancels Solo Tour
Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie has posted a statement online through his official website in regards to the cancellation of his U.S solo tour in support of his 2010 effort "Static Impulse." James LaBrie commented by saying:
"It is very difficult for what I am about to say. The 'Static Impulse' tour has been cancelled due to some unfortunate, unforeseen difficulties with securing work visas for a couple of the guys. It would be virtually impossible for us to have these visas processed on time to begin the tour let alone the rehearsals which were scheduled for the week prior to the first show.
"I don't know what to say other than we are all in shock and can only hope we can make this a reality at some point in the near future.
"I am really sorry to everyone who has gone out and purchased the meet-and-greets and show tickets. This totally sucks and I'm sure you're all quite upset and have every right to be. I can only ask for your understanding and forgiveness and assure you that when we are in a position (hopefully in the near future ) to tour all of this will have been taken care of well in advance or it just won't happen."

James LaBrie Streaming New Song From Solo Album
James LaBrie of Dream Theater has announced his new solo album "Static Impulse" is due out September 28th via InsideOut Music. You can now check out the new song "One More Time" via Noise Creep.
"Musically speaking, 'One More Time' is sort of a marriage of old-school progressive elements and modern melodic death metal," guitarist/keyboardist Matt Guillory told Noisecreep. "We wanted to have a drastic contrast between what's going on in the verses and what's going on in the choruses. There's almost a pop feel near the end where both James' vocals and my vocals start layering in different ways. Lyrically, the song is about dealing with the loss of a loved one."
