October Tide Announces European Mini Tour

Swedish dark metal act October Tide, featuring former Katatonia Featuring guitarist Fredrik Norrman, has revealed the dates for its forthcoming mini tour of Europe. The five dates can be found below:

Inevitable End Completes New Album "The Oculus"

Sweden’s INEVITABLE END has completed work on their second full-length album entitled "The Oculus." INEVITABLE END recorded "The Oculus" at HoBoRec Studio in Huskvarna, Sweden with producer Ulf Blomberg. Song titles from the album include “Tell Us, Parasites,” “Dogmaties Paralies,” “While Surpassing Ether,” “Chamber of Apathy,” and “Cadaver Inc.” The follow-up to 2009’s "The Severed Inception" is expected to see an early 2011 release date.

INEVTIABLE END vocalist Andreas Gerden comments on the new album, “It's been great working with the new material and we're really satisfied with the sound Ulf has given it, it feels massive and maybe even more intense than our debut at points. We've allowed ourselves to experiment quite a bit this time around and combined a lot of different elements ranging from post-metal and doom to grindcore, and also mixing in some new, exciting instruments into our sound.”

October Tide Comments On Hell's Pleasure Fest

Sweden’s October Tide will perform at the 6th Annual Hell’s Pleasure MetalFest scheduled to take place this weekend in Possneck, Germany. The band is expected to play selections from the forthcoming new album, "A Thin Shell," due in stores September 28th. The performance marks the band’s first since regrouping in 2009.

Guitarist Fredrik Norrman says, “We are really exited for the first gig ever with this updated version of October Tide. Our last rehearsal sounded great and it feels like we are actually a band. And the old songs sound better-than-ever with Tobias’s vocals. So be there support October Tide and join us for beers afterwards.”

October Tide currently features vocalist Tobias Netzell, drummer Robin Bergh, and guitarist Norrman. Guitarist Emil Alstermark and bassist Johan Jansson now join the group as they ready for the weekend’s performance.

October Tide Streaming New Song

Decibel Magazine has premiered the first song from October Tide's new album, "A Thin Shell," which is scheduled for release on September 28th. The new song “Blackness Devours” can now be heard by visiting this location.

"A Thin Shell" is the first new album from Sweden’s October Tide in over ten years. The album was mixed and mastered at Black Lounge Studios in Sweden and features artwork from American photographer/graphic designer Travis Smith Guitarist/founder Fredrik Norrman recently commented, "I have wanted to get October Tide back together for some time. When we decided the time was right, ideas for new songs surprisingly came together nicely. Many sleepless nights were involved, with lots of coffee of course, but the songs were written in flow one after another."

October Tide Announces New Album Details

Candlelight Records has confirmed September 28th as the North American release date for "A Thin Shell," the new album from Sweden’s October Tide. Currently featuring guitarist/founder Fredrik Norrman (Katatonia), vocalist Tobias Netzell, drummer Robin Bergh, and session bassist Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, Carnal Forge), the album is the band’s first in ten years and follows the 2009 reissue of their debut, "Rain Without End."

"A Thin Shell" was mixed and mastered at Black Lounge Studios in Sweden and features artwork from American photographer/graphic designer Travis Smith. "I have wanted to get October Tide back together for some time,” reveals Norrman. “When we decided the time was right, ideas for new songs surprisingly came together nicely. Many sleepless nights were involved, with lots of coffee of course, but the songs were written in flow one after another.”

Discussing the recording process Norrman notes, “we started recording in March of last year. Jonas (Kjellgren) liked what he heard and offered to get it into the (Black Lounge) studio’s schedule even though we didn’t have a label yet. What was meant as a side project so long ago is now my main project and I am very proud of it. We only hope people enjoy it as much as we do.” More...

October Tide Signs To Candlelight Records

Swedish metal band OCTOBER TIDE has announced their signing to Candlelight Records. The band, featuring guitarist Fredrick Norrman, vocalist Tobias Netzell, drummer Robin Bergh, and session bassist Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, Carnal Forge), is currently finishing work on their untitled new album. Expected for release early fall, it will be the first new recording from the band in over ten years. It follows recent reissue of the band’s acclaimed debut "Rain Without End."
