Unsigned New Jersey metal band Dystrophy has posted two new songs, "Iconoclasm" and "Devoured By Time," on their MySpace page. The songs come off their upcoming album, "Chains of Hypocrisy," which features the following tracklisting:

Dystrophy Discusses Lyrical Meanings

Vocalist Greg Bueno, of the New Jersey melodic death/thrash metal band Dystrophy, has issued the following update providing insight into his lyrics:

"Something that I always set out to do with lyrics is to have the words match up with whatever is going on musically to make the song a unified whole. There is a tendency in metal for the words to just be there, shouted uniformly without much thought, especially in lots of thrash and death metal bands. There isn't anything inherently wrong with this approach, except that I like to be a little fancy when it comes to using certain compositional techniques. There is also a tendency in metal (moreso nowadays than in the past) to fill up every possible portion of the song minus the guitar solos with vocals. This is just plain stupid. Riffs need time and space to breathe and deliver their own intensity, so with few exceptions, I didn't feel the need to write 60 lines of lyrics per song." More...

Dystrophy Issues Studio Update

New Jersey melodic death metal band Dystrophy spent the last six months writing songs for their full length album. The band is currently in the studio recording with Ryan Jones (Wetnurse, ANS, Seasick) and has given the following update:

"All guitar, drum and bass tracks are DONE! We've been in the studio for the last month recording and we're about halfway through vocals today."

"Burden's Tom Murphy is in doing guest vocals!"

Stream Ataraxia's Entire New EP Online

New Jersey thrash metal band Ataraxia has posted their entire debut self titled EP on their MySpace page for streaming.

Ataraxia's line up is as follows:
