God Forbid Cancels Festival Show Due To Theft

God Forbid has announced the band will be canceling its previously scheduled performance at HeavyMTL this weekend due to Doc Coyle being robbed in San Antonio. The band comments, "God Forbid is sorry to have to cancel their performance at this years Heavy MTL! Due to reasons beyond our control! (Remember when Doc's bag was stolen, his passport was in the bag!)"

Doc also posted the following message on Sunday:

"So two days ago in San Antonio, someone stole my bag out of our dressing room with my MacBook pro laptop, iPod, hard drive, headphones, passport, toiletries, etc. It was in a beat up Swiss Gear backpack. If anyone who was there saw anything suspicious or lives in the area recognizes any of these items, please let me know. I do everything with my computer. Communicate, create music. This sucks big time, but it's just stuff. I am lucky I have my health. So many are less fortunate."

Diamond Plate Vocalist To Miss Rest Of Tour

Diamond Plate has announced that bassist and lead vocalist Jon Macak will be departing from the band's tour with Overkill and God Forbid to return home due to a recent family emergency. The band has decided to continue on with the remainder of the trek with tour manager and close friend Dan Valente filling in on bass and vocal duties.

Jon Macak stated, "I am very sad to say that I will not be able to be a part of the last six Killfest dates. I will be flying home to Chicago Sunday morning to be with my mother who is very ill and needs my support. There is a chance that she does not have much time left so I want to be by her side as much as possible. The rest of the band will finish the tour without me and I want to thank everyone for their support and understanding."

Diamond Plate also added, "We all wish Jon and his family strength through this incredibly hard time. Words can't describe how much Jon's presence will be missed on stage as a frontman, but most importantly our best friend. After these shows without him, we will come back stronger than ever and with a new understanding of what it means to be a band. An incredible thanks goes out to Dan Valente, our tour manager, who will help us finish the tour by handling bass and vocal duties. Thank you to all the fans for the support and understanding, and please keep Jon's family in your positive thoughts."

God Forbid Releases "Where We Come From" Video

God Forbid has premiered a brand new music video for “Where We Come From” through Vevo. You can check out the video below, or here at Vevo. The video arrives just in time for the release of the "Equilibrium" album, out 03/26.

Guitarist/vocalist Doc Coyle says of the concept, “The idea really came from me thinking about the recurring lyrical themes of the album, and wanting to find a way to tap into that truth.” He goes on to say, “Pretending that we are rich rock stars who drink champagne and fly on private jets would not be effective. This isn't a revelation, but I wanted to show the whole picture, and that it's nothing to be ashamed of. We work, we jam, we hang out, we have fun together, and the payoff is we get to play amazing shows in front of amazing fans and engage with them on a very personal level.”

Corey Pierce, drummer goes on to say, “The fact that we are normal guys who do what we need to do in order to go out, play shows and make music, is literally 'Where We Come From.'” The video was directed by Eric Richter in 3 different states within 48 hours documenting the everyday life of God Forbid.
