Stream Of Passion Posts Album Break Down
Stream of Passion has posted a track-by-track break down of the band's upcoming album "Darker Days." You can check out the thoughts from the band on the new album below.
LOST: A very dramatic and heavy song. We mixed huge guitars with tango influences and this was the result; so on one side you have the very melodic verses, led by the bandoneon and string quartet, and on the other the choruses driven by the guitars and the drums.
REBORN: A song Marcela wrote thinking about her hometown Monterrey. Almost every day I read another terrible story about my old hometown in the news; about murders, kidnappings, persecutions and all other kinds of horrible things going on because of the constant war against drugs and fights amongst cartels. This song is inspired in the hope things can change.
COLLIDE: While thinking about all the tours we've done, the heaviest gigs we've played, we came up with the riffs of the song; we tried to reflect that energy we feel on stage. Lyric wise this song is about paranoia and persecution delirium, and trying to find comfort in the people you trust.More...

Stream Of Passion Posts New Tour Blog
Stream of Passion has posted a new tour blog online from the band's tour dates in October, 2010. An excerpt from the blog follows:
"Friday, October 15, 2010 - Embrace the snow storm: After a wonderful show in Quebec we wake up at the PUR hotel, fully rested and happy to have some hours to relax before our next drive. Since the clean-dirty clothes ratio is getting worse and worse Johan and I decide to go look for a laundromat where we can properly fix that; being the nice people that we are we gather everyone’s dirty clothes and off we go!
"There’s always something out of the ordinary at a laundromat; take this particular occasion, when while we watch our clothes spin endlessly in the big driers and continuously throw quarters into the machine we can’t help to gaze into the adjacent room where a special hairdresser who cuts hair with fire (yes, fire) conducts its business. After running back and forth to a close little shop for snacks and even more quarters we can happily go back to the hotel with a bunch of clean clothes. More...

Stream Of Passion Posts Tour Blog
Stream of Passion has posted a new tour blog online from the band's Canadian tour dates. An excerpt from the blog follows:
"Monday, October 11, 2010 - No Sleep 'till Quebec: 7 AM. I'm wide awake. Today will be the day we all fly to Montreal to start our Canadian/Quebecian journey. Slightly nervous, as it's always a small gamble to check in your guitar at the desk. Hoping you'll get it back once you landed on the other side of the ocean. Also saying goodbye to my wife and my little daughter is not my favorite past-time. Still, I'm all psyched and ready to go. After I dropped my daughter off at school and promised her to bring back the princess dress that her Canadian grandma & grandpa bought her, I'm heading towards Amsterdam Airport. At 10.30 sharp I'm at the departure hall, awaiting the arrival of the other band members. They slowly start pouring in and we start blocking the hall with all the bags and flight cases. After checking in, and waving goodbye to our instruments, the waiting for take-off starts. While lounging at the local McDonald's Johan brings forth a surprise in the form of our Canadian tour sound engineer. No one less than Endre, the incredibly capable and overly funny Norwegian sound guy we met last tour will be handling our sound. This tour is gonna rock!!
"The next few hours were filled with boarding a plane, watching in-flight movies, being silly, the odd nap or 2, and some airplane food. And then we finally landed at Montreal airport. Anxious times as we went through passport control. The next hour or so was spent at Immigration Service who asked us several questions and made a few calls to make sure that we traveled from the Netherlands just to play some shows and nothing else. We were allowed to enter the country after all and after we reunited with our bags and gear we met up with tour promoter and keyboard player of Manahil, Mathieu Fiset. A 4 hour drive to Quebec City was lying ahead of us. So we got everything that's Stream of Passion into the van and off we went. The French-Canadian landscape rolled by and I think we were all needed some getting used to the different sights and the fact that we were more than 5000 kilometers away from home. This was going to be something else. More...

Stream Of Passion Posts New Tour Diary
Stream of Passion has posted the second tour diary from their "Beauty and the Beast" tour alongside Atrocity, Elis, and Sirenia. Excerpts from the road report follow:
"November 20, 2009 - Biebob, Vosselaar (B) Waking up because my iPhone is notifying me that we arrived in Belgium (network change) is not the most relaxed way to start a morning, but despite that it looks like it's going to be a terrific day. The bus is parked several hundred meters from the venue, and at the moment that we're crawling out of our bunks the doors are still closed. A quick dash across the street for a sandwich and then the venue opens their doors. It's time to drag some guitars and personal things in. The Biebob is a well-known and respected venue for us Dutchies and it's an honor to get the opportunity to play our music there again. Rather soon the bar near the entrance has been transformed into a internet cafe with all kinds of laptops on display. Through Skype Seven (Leaves’ Eyes drummer) and I seek contact with the people we left at home. I wave at my wife and daughter through the webcam. A slight sense of being home. More...
Stream Of Passion Issues Tour Diary
Stream of Passion has posted the first tour diary from their "Beauty and the Beast" tour alongside Atrocity, Elis, and Sirenia. Excerpts from the report follow:
"November 13, 2009 - Stadthalle, Lichtenfels (DE) It's 2am and we've gathered in Tilburg with the whole band to leave for Stuttgart (our meeting point with the tour-bus and the rest of the bands) in a rented bus. We planned on sleeping before we left but out of excitement and drinks we totally forgot about it! So the bus gets there, we load our stuff and off we go!
"The ride is fun and we arrive at the Stuttgart airport a bit later than planned; not a problem, since the tour-bus hasn't arrived. We load out all our stuff and are standing outside the gate waiting... and waiting... and waiting some more... Turns out because of some technical problems the bus was late and scheduled to arrive at 12:30pm instead of the planned 10:00am. In the meantime the guys of Sirenia arrive and join us for the wait; I had no idea Ailyn the band's lead singer actually comes from Spain, just as she didn't know I'm from Mexico; while making conversation we figured out, and were immediately thrilled with the idea of being able to talk some Spanish! "The preparations for the Beauty and the Beast Tour are in full swing and we all are looking forward to finally start the tour. It will be very exciting for us to perform the vehemence and energy of the new songs from 'Njord' for the very first time. These songs are fun to play and demand full concentration and power from the whole band. Some songs are real beasts according to the title for this tour, haha. Of course there will be well known songs in the set list such as 'Farewell Proud Men' but we also want to focus on the 'Njord' songs. Our premiere for the new show will be in a few days, on the 31.11.2009 in Triora/Italy! ELIS are old friends of us and together with SIRENIA and STREAM OF PASSION, people can expect an opulent spectacle with this tour package. Let the games begin!"
Atrocity also commented on the upcoming tour: "We are all looking forward to this tour, which is a great opportunity to see us performing a pure WERK 80 show. Of course there's dancers and we will be playing songs from both WERK 80 albums! It's a real pity that Alla cannot be with us and we all wish her the best to recover as soon as possible! We also gonna meet many friends on this very interesting, international Festival package! How often do you have the opportunity to watch LEAVES' EYES, ATROCITY, SIRENIA, ELIS and STREAM OF PASSION live on stage in one single night? So don't miss this BEAUTY & THE BEAST festival, see you on tour hopefully soon!"

Cardamon Parts Ways With Drummer, Thomas Kalksma
Dutch gothic metal band Cardamon has parted ways with their drummer, Thomas Kalksma, and announced a replacement, Michael Van Der Kolk.
The band comments, "On September 5th we would like to introduce you to our new drummer Michael van der Kolk @ De Peppel, Zeist, (with Stream of Passion). Thomas recently decided to part ways with Cardamon, wanting to focus more on his professional career. With more and more (international) gigs, the choice between career and Cardamon became increasingly difficult for him. However, we were lucky enough to find Michael, who seemed to be born ready, so we could pick up where we left. Meaning he's as ready for the road as much as we are, and we're already focusing on new material! Starting this September, Cardamon will hit the road, so make sure you come out and make him feel welcome in a way only Cardamon fans can."
