The Richmond, VA 5-piece, Lamb of God, came together in the current form in the fall of 1999. The band has been around in various forms and under various names, most notably Burn The Priest, since '94, however, and the brothers, Chris and Willie, have been playing music together since '88.

Lamb of God signed with Epic records in 2004 and completed their major label debut in just 5 months before embarking on their first Ozzfest tour and subsequent US and UK tours.

Lamb of God play a caustic style of extreme metal that can be compared to few others. It can best be described as a raw mixture of death and doom metal elements, but that description does not do their sound justice. Go get their CD or catch a show and hear it for yourself.

Lamb Of God DVD Goes Platinum

LAMB OF GOD's website has been updated to include the following press release:

Make no mistake about it, Grammy nominated Lamb Of God are the reigning supreme rulers of American Heavy Metal. Now, Lamb Of God announce Killadelphia DVD goes PLATINUM!!!

The band celebrate receiving the platinum award for Killadelphia DVD while they currently deliver their unruly brand of heavy metal as direct support to OZZY OSBOURNE on the mainstage at OZZFest.

“If you thought METALLICA’s Some Kind Of Monster was candid, wait until you get your metal-loving mitts on Killadelphia.” - Long Island Press.

Lamb Of God’s Killadelphia highlights every facet of the bands unforgiving live performance recorded from two unforgettable "Sold Out" concerts at Philadelphia’s legendary Trocadero. This blistering live documentation features lead singer Randy Blythe’s storming vocals, the buzzsaw guitar slaughter of both Willie Adler and Mark Morton along with the powerhouse rhythm section of Chris Adler (drums) with John Campbell (bass).

Killadelphia boasts live versions of: 'Laid To Rest', 'Hourglass', 'As The Palaces Burn', 'Now You’ve Got Something To Die For', '11th Hour', 'Terror & Hubris', 'Ruin', 'Omerta', 'Pariah', 'The Faded Line', 'Bloodletting', 'The Subtle Art Of Murder & Persuasion', 'Vigil', 'What I’ve Become', and the utterly classic 'Black Label'; which inspires crowds worldwide to part seas for the infamous ‘wall of death’.

Drummer, Chris Adler states “In today's age of gimmicks, lies and faux reality trying to make celebrities out of everyone with a few dollars, it was important for us to not stage or hype up a damn thing - to simply show LAMB OF GOD on the road; the good times, the bad times and one hell of a show- and for that stripped down, no-holds-barred approach to be received this well certainly flatters us, but also continues to make a dent in the industry full of fakes and talentless image. It's nice to know that we didn't have to be anything other than ourselves to achieve such success with this DVD, but the real praise should go to our friends and fans who picked up Killadelphia and in doing so have sent a message to the powers that be that we are sick of the over hyped, fake "real world" being shoved down our throats - we are all ready for the honest, genuine bands and music to take center stage once again.

As a band we are extremely humbled by this achievement - it's rare that a band like ourselves receives this honor. Again, we pass along the thanks and praise to those of you who picked up Killadelphia. This is an accomplishment that we share with all of you. Thank you, congratulations and cheers! See you all soon - Stay Metal 'till then!”

Unholy Alliance DVD To Be Released

SLAYER has compiled footage from last year's Unholy Alliance Tour with LAMB OF GOD and MASTODON for a DVD that will be released on October 30 via American Recordings. Directed by Adam Rothlein (Speedway Films), "Unholy Alliance Tour" captures the July 13, 2006, stop in Vancouver, British Columbia, and also includes footage of the other two acts on the bill, CHILDREN OF BODOM and THINE EYES BLEED. Behind-the-scenes clips and interviews, many of which were conducted by the bandmembers, round out the set.

SLAYER's concert at the San Diego Sports Arena on Saturday, August 25, 2007 was streamed live on YeboTV, a next-generation web-based TV network.

The San Diego concert was a stop on SLAYER's current North American co-headline trek with MARILYN MANSON and is in support of the release of SLAYER's "Christ Illusion, Special Limited Edition" (American Recordings) CD/DVD which hit stores in U.S. and globally on July 24.

SLAYER's "Christ Illusion" reissue contains the previously unreleased cut "The Final Six", as well as an alternate version of "Black Serenade". It also boasts a bonus DVD called "Slayer on Tour '07" which includes the "Eyes of the Insane" video; a live rendition of the band's 1988 LP track "South of Heaven" that was shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, on last year's "Unholy Alliance" run; and a behind-the-scenes, five-minute documentary-style montage of footage shot earlier this year when the band performed in Florida and Australia.

KSE And Lamb Of God To Tour Together

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE bassist Mike D'Antonio recently did an interview with Greg Maki of Live-Metal.com. Excerpts follow.

Live-Metal.net: How big is it to have [guitarist] Adam [Dutkiewicz] back on stage with you? [NOTE: This interview was conducted before Dutkiewicz left the tour due to his back injury.]

Mike D'Antonio: It's awesome, but he's still not really taking care of himself the way he should. This is his first tour back since January, and he already started doing all the old stuff that he used to do. You just can't do that anymore. He's gotta calm himself down. So right now he's actually looking to get another MRI 'cause he's not sure if he can make it to the rest of the tour.

Live-Metal.net: How serious was his injury?

Mike D'Antonio: It was his second back surgery, and whenever there's a back surgery, there's chance of paralysis, there's a chance of being in a wheelchair for the rest of your life. So going through it twice, every time he's going to have some sort of surgery, his ratio's gonna go down, down, down, down till he is going to be in a wheelchair. So we don't want it to get as bad as it did in January at all. We will send him home right away. Right now, it's just kind of a nervous, like, I hope he's OK, I hope he's feeling right. We've done everything we possibly could. We don't let him carry anything besides his guitar. We gave him a back room in the bus where it just has this big bed so he can kinda stretch out 'cause he's a tall guy, he's like six-four or something. The rest is up to him.

Live-Metal.net: What's next after Warped Tour? Do you know yet?

Mike D'Antonio: After Warped Tour, we are going to do a Scandinavian tour. It's gonna be like three or four weeks. We're gonna do Russia for the first time. We're really excited. Moscow and St. Petersburg. After that, LAMB OF GOD tour in December, co-headlining. We're really excited.

Live-Metal.net: Is that back here?

Mike D'Antonio: Yeah, in the U.S. And it might be like a December, quit for Christmas, come back out and do a January run, as well, with those guys. There is a little talk about maybe SUICIDAL TENDENCIES being on that tour, possibly EVERY TIME I DIE being on that tour. So it could be a big one.

Lamb Of God's Chris Adler Is Proud Vegetarian

The Lamb of God drummer was recently featured at activist website PETA, and also has an interesting print ad supporting the furry masses.

"Chris told us he was 'always really into having pets and felt a real connection with animals'from an early age, and although he stopped eating red meat when he learned the facts about factory farming, he still ate chicken—until he saw a truck full of chickens on their way to slaughter. "We were on tour and saw a chicken truck go by with these chickens that were just bleeding—it was just disgusting. And that was it. I haven't had a piece of it since." Like us, he believes it's important that people are educated about what's really happening in factory farms and slaughterhouses. 'The issue with the whole thing is education and information. Most people don't think about it.' "

Lamb of God Issue Update of Events

Lamb of God's drummer, Chris Adler has posted the following update on the band's site:

Here’s a quick update on what’s been happening around the LOG camp. Following our spring tour with Gojira, Machine Head and Trivium, we headed over to Japan, Australia and New Zealand for a few weeks. Truly amazing part of the planet and I feel lucky to have had the chance to return. Incredible shows, totally insane signings and meet and greets, and real hospitality that make us all look forward to heading back.

Once home, we barely had enough time to catch up on our sleep before we flew back over the pond to begin a month across Western Europe. This trip included most of the European summer festivals including shows and festivals in the beautiful Nordic countries. We had done a few of the festivals several years ago, but this time was beyond any expectations. The word of LOG has obviously spread! These were some of the biggest shows of our career (Download festival was ~75,000 people!!!). It is an amazing and exhilarating feeling to perform in front of such incredible audiences. I for one am very thankful for the opportunity – it is a dream realized and I will never forget it.

While there, we were invited to attend and perform at the Metal Hammer awards – going into it I didn’t really know what to expect since we don’t have anything similar over here, but basically it’s like the Grammy’s for Metal in the UK. Red carpet and all. Good thing I had my camo shorts!

We arrived home just a few days ago and immediately went to work preparing for Ozzfest. We fly to Seattle in just a few days. Just this morning we loaded the semi and sent it on its way. There’s a million behind the scenes stories, bloopers and blunders to tell, and I promise they will see the light of day in part 2 of the Sacrament DVD, but for now, I gotta get some rest! If you’re able to, come say hi on Ozzfest. Help us and many of the bands continue to enlighten and push metal further than it’s ever been. We plan on putting on our best show yet and what the hell - even if you hate us – we’ll make sure you get you money’s worth!!!"

Lamb of God are touring this summer as part of this year's Ozzfest.

Ozzfest 2007 VIP Ticket Plan Revealed

It was announced months ago that tickets for this summer's Ozzfest would be free to fans, and that the longest-running heavy metal festival would subsist on corporate sponsorships and little else.

But obtaining those free tickets for one of the dates on this year's run — which kicks off July 12 in Auburn, Washington, and continues through August 30 in West Palm Beach, Florida — might just give some metal fans a migraine.

First, you have to send an e-mail requesting tickets, and then wait for a confirmation e-mail containing a link to the Web site of one of the tour's various sponsors. Next, you have to wait until June 12 before you can enter that code on some other Web site to redeem two tickets to whichever date you'd like to attend. It's a whole rigmarole that some fans — or, more specifically, those willing to drop some serious scratch — can avoid.

That's right, folks — while this summer's Live Nation-sponsored Ozzfest will be free to most, some will fork over upward of $1,000 to get in. As in years past, Ozzfest's organizers will offer fans a number of VIP ticket packages for purchase, which will ensure them a seat for all the headbangin' action.

The festival's "Party Like a Rockstar" package — which includes preferred pavilion seating, access to the second-stage VIP viewing platform behind the mixing boards, access to the general VIP area, a behind-the-scenes tour and a special host "to help you rock harder than you have ever rocked before" — returns this summer, and will set you back $300. There's also the "I'm Part of the Show" package, which costs $666 and includes all the same perks, in addition to a seat on the Ozzfest stage during Osbourne's concert-closing set.

There's also the "Platinum" package, which will be available by auction in the not-so-distant future. The starting bid will be $1,000 and will be limited to only 10 guests per show. This offer includes everything the "I'm Part of the Show" package does, and then some. Fans who win the auction will also get a personal meeting with Osbourne and his band, along with a certificate signed by Sharon Osbourne. The proceeds of these tickets will go to the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

The festival's 12th annual installment boasts a bill including Ozzy Osbourne, 3 Inches Of Blood, Ankla, Behemoth, Chthonic, Circus Diablo, Daath, Hatebreed, In This Moment, Lamb of God, Lordi, Mondo Generator, Nile, Static-X and The Showdown.

The 24-city 12th annual OZZFEST will launch July 12 in Seattle, WA at the White River Amphitheatre. Here are the tour dates: More...
