Mnemic Collaborate With Guitarist/Producer Roy Z

Danish modern metallers MNEMIC have recently employed the writing talents of guitarist/producer Roy Z. for one song that will surface on MNEMIC's upcoming album, due out in early 2007. The talented and heralded guitarist and songwriter for TRIBE OF GYPSIES, as well as producer of such recent metal classics as BRUCE DICKINSON's "Chemical Wedding", HALFORD's "Resurrection" and JUDAS PRIEST's "Angel of Retribution", Z. collaborated on guitar recently with MNEMIC as the band prepare to start recording their untitled third album for Nuclear Blast Records.

Commented the band: "The track has turned out really good. You can hear the heavy mixture of Roy's along with the MNEMIC style.

"We've been a fan of Roy's work since first hearing his production on the DICKINSON and HALFORD albums, he always comes out when we are playing in L.A. and is a good friend of the band. We've actually never collaborated with other musicians before when it came to composing songs, so we thought we could combine some of his heavy grove with some of our polyrhythmics and make a song."

MNEMIC are in the final stages of selecting a new vocalist, the spot vacating recently by Tony Jelencovich (ex-TRANSPORT LEAGUE, B-THONG) after only several months in the frontman role. MNEMIC have "pretty much decided who it's going to be, but we need to concentrate on getting the recording going for this next album before announcing anything," explains guitarist Mircea Eftemie. "The song with Roy should be a great addition to the songs that we've had ready to go for a while now, we can't wait to get busy!"

Mnemic To Begin Recording Third Album

Danish modern metallers Mnemic will enter ex-Stone Temple Pilots drummer Eric Kretz's Bomb Shelter studios in Los Angeles, California in May with producers Shaun Tingvolt (Strapping Young Lad, Lamb of God) and Christian Olde Wolbers (Fear Factory) to begin recording their third album for a late 2006 release. Mixing duties will be handled by Andy Sneap (Machine Head, Exodus, Arch Enemy, Nevermore) at his Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, U.K. The group's upcoming CD will be their first with singer Tony Jelencovich (formerly of Transport League and B-Thong), who replaced Michael Bøgballe in September.

Mnemic Postpone Recording Session

Danish modern metallers MNEMIC have abandoned their previously announced plans to record their next album at The Abyss studio with producer Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN).

Commented the band: "We are sorry to inform all the people that hoped for a summer release, but that's simply not happening. One of the reasons is simply because we are not ready to enter the studio in February, and second we do not want to rush this album. In stead we will be recording in May, with a different producer at a different studio."

In other news, MNEMIC have scheduled their first gig of 2006 in Puerto Rico at the Tito Puente Amphitheater on March 25.

MNEMIC's sophomore album, "The Audio Injected Soul", was released in September 2004 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Mnemic Guitarist Issue Report On US Tour

MNEMIC guitarist Mircea Gabriel Eftemie has posted the following tour report on the group's official web site:

"So we're back! I dont know how to put this, but the MESHUGGAH tour is unfortunately over.

The last week or so has been nothing but fragments of memories merging into one big pile of imagery. If we rewind a bit, I remember St. Louis; we played a venue called Pops. A humongous place which could hold at least 2000 peeps, and the place was packed. It was MESHUGGAH, MNEMIC, and a dozen of local support acts. Both bands had the best time on the whole tour on that stage, at Pops. The crowd was into every band, and the moshpit looked like something I haven't seen in a long long time. Once again fists and elbows smashing into everybody and people stagediving and getting in trouble with the security, it was beautiful.

Mnemic Begin Work On Third Album

Danish modern metallers Mnemic have commenced work on material for their third album, which is untitled at the moment. "The band is full motion writing the new material and it's coming along as butter on bread!", the group writes in a press release.

"The new album will be produced by someone in Sweden who happens to be one of the most acclaimed frontmen/producers in the metal world today. And yes, he happens to live in the Abyss, and his name is Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain). Mixing duties would come from another legend which we'll tell you all about very soon — now go spread them rumors!"

Mnemic - who recently enlisted Swedish vocalist Tony Jelencovich (formerly of Transport Leage and B-Thong) to replace departed frontman Michael Bøgballe - will be teaming up with Meshuggah, God Forbid and The Haunted for a North American tour beginning in early October.

Mnemic Confirm Departure Of Lead Singer

The rumors are true - Mnemic have parted ways with frontman Michael Bøgballe.

Commented on the band: “It is sad it has come to this, but Michael has chosen a different path in his life and wishes to leave the band. This last weekend, we did our last gig together in Gothenburg, Sweden – which was one of the most intense and energetic gigs we have ever done, and this night will not be forgotten for a very long time. Thanks to all of our friends in Impious, Engel, Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy and most important Patric Ullaeus, who came out and made it all special for everybody! We now would like to take this time to wish Michael all the best and good luck in future endeavours.”

Michael has a few farewell words to say as well, to all of you out there wondering.

“It is with great sadness that I must announce my departure from Mnemic. From today I´m no longer officially the singer of Mnemic. There´s a thousand ways to put this but none seem just accurate right now, so I´m just gonna be honest with ya all. There are two main reasons in my life for doing this. One is that my girlfriend is pregnant with my baby and I therefore want to spend some more time at home. Second is , that I´m sick and tired of being broke all the time. This is by far the hardest decision I ever had to make cuz I love the metal, the tours and the band. What we did together, no one can take that away from me and I´ll remember every country we´ve visited for as long as I live. And to the people I´ve met on the road and all the fans: Thank you so much for being there. You made all the difference to me.....

"I know for sure that the remaining four boys in Mnemic will not slow down. We part as best friends and will remain so......You guys are the shit!! Thank you

"And Bobo from the Summerbreeze Festival: Fuck you!

"Goodbye everybody....I had a blast...and who knows.....maybe we´ll see each other somewhere in the future...........

"Michael”

With Michaels imminent departure, former Transport League/B-Thong singer Tony Jelencovich will step into the machine to take over vocal duties.

Commented on the band: “Tony has been a long time friend of the band, and we are 100% confident that he is the right man for the job!”

"Also SPECIAL THANKS to video director Patric Ullaeus and his wife Tara at ww.Revolver.se spending time with the band to do another brilliant shoot in Gothenburg this weekend.

"This line up change will NOT, in any way, effect Mnemic's North American Fall tour with Meshuggah, God Forbid and The Haunted.

"More news to come!
