In Mourning Announces Vinyl Release

Swedish progressive melodeath/doom metal band In Mourning just dropped new album "Afterglow" via Agonia Records, but that's not the only release now arriving.

In Mourning's former album, 2012 release "The Weight Of Oceans," will be made available for the first time in vinyl format. This new edition is set for August 26th via Agonia Records and pre-orders arecurrently available here.

A range of new T-shirt merchandise will accompany this release, featuring the album's cover artwork made by Kristian Wåhlin (Bathory, Tiamat, King Diamond) in various colour combinations. "The Weight Of Oceans" will be available in the following formats:

In Mourning Streaming Full New Album

Sweden's progressive/melodlic death metal six-piece In Mourning (featuring Daniel Liljekvist formerly of Katatonia on drums) just made new album "Afterglow" available for streaming prior to the official release date.

In Mourning Posts "The Call To Orion"

Sweden's melodeath masters from In Mourning are soon to release a new album titled "Afterglow," which the release date set for May 20th via Agonia Records. In anticipation, the band today reveals new song "The Call To Orion."

"Afterglow," the successor to "The Weight Of Oceans" (2012), will be the first album featuring new drummer Daniel Liljekvist (ex-Katatonia). The cover artwork was made by Kristian Wåhlin (Bathory, Tiamat, King Diamond) and the total playing time is around one hour.

In Mourning commented: "The new album is called 'Afterglow' and its story takes off from where 'The Weight Of Oceans' ends. It’s a bit more complex than our previous albums and it has got a bit of a different sound than the older ones, a bit more alive like a band and maybe not always as studio corrected as our earlier material. Sweden's lauded melodic death/doom metal band In Mourning just released a second new song from upcoming album "Aftergolw." The track "Fire And Ocean," which is the album opener, is available below.

After having revealed details surrounding the new album "Afterglow," Swedish melodic death/doom metal act In Mourning has unleashed the first new song fromthe record. Entitled "Below Rise To The Above," the lyric video for the track can be viewed in the player below.

Since then the band has evolved over the years striving to refine its sound to what it is today. April 2012 marked the release of the bands third and latest album "The Weight Of Oceans", a mythology inspired conceptual story that journeys to the sea. Musically, the group blends a broad spectrum of influences into a foundation of melodic death metal. Thrusting from doomy metal-riffs, blasting drumbeats and deep growling vocals to calm breezes of clean flowing melodies and harmonies.

"Afterglow" has been recorded between November 2015 and March 2016 in Nordin Music Studios (drums) and Libra Studios (guitar, bass and vocals). Mixing and mastering duties have been handeled by Jonas Martinsson in Necrosavant Studio.

In Mourning Signs With Agonia Records

Agonia Records is proud to announce the singing of Sweden's melodic death/doom metal group in Mourning. The band is currently in studio working hard on the successor to the 2012 "The Weight Of Oceans." Agonia Records comments:

"Hailed by many as the heir to Opeth's melodeath throne, In Mourning was formed in the Swedish woods in the year 2000. In Mourning Parts Ways With Drummer

Sweden's In Mourning has issued the following announcement about parting ways with Christian Netzell:

"After fourteen years of playing with In Mourning Christian has decided to leave the band, mainly due to musical differences.

"We will be departing from an amazing drummer and a formidable guy. There are no hard feelings behind this departure and we wish Christian the very best in all his current and future projects.

"For our upcoming live shows our friend Mattias Bender will be joining us as a stand-in drummer. Regarding the future in a longer perspective we will keep you informed on what will happen, however In Mourning will continue to work on a new record that’s for certain." More...

In Mourning has issued the following announcement about the band's upcoming third full-length album:

"We present to you the cover art and track listing of the third In Mourning studio album, The Weight Of Oceans. The album was recorded in sessions during later parts of 2011 in the Abyss and Black Lounge studios in Sweden, again together with engineer Jonas Kjellgren. The cover art was created by Kristian Wåhlin."

In Mourning Bassist To Miss Devilstone Open Air

Sweden's In Mourning has issued the following announcement about bassist Pierre Stam missing the band's upcoming performance at the Devilstone Open Air festival:

"Pierre is unable to participate in our gig at the Devilstone Open Air Festival in Lithuania this Saturday!

"With us handling the bass on this gig is our good friend Emil Wärmedal from Swedish melodic death metal band Tempory! Also the gig is moved from Friday to Saturday! See you all in Lithuania soon!"
