On October 30, California metal outfit Saviours will drop the molten fruits of a new full-length via a recently inked partnership with France's Listenable Records.
Titled "Palace Of Vision," the group's first full-length in four years was captured at Type Foundry in Portland, Oregon with Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth, Eyehategod, Taurus, Ommadon etc.) and boasts nine tracks of Saviours' signature brand of towering riffs, colossal rhythms, infectious guitar harmonies and an obsession with the end of times, the occult, psychedelics and the arcane.
"It's a natural and logical continuation of where we left off with 'Death's Procession,'" said drummer Scott Batiste of the offering. "There are some doomy crushers and faster ragers."
As an added bonus, the record comes sheathed in the fittingly dark, intricately transfixing cover renderings of Derrick Snodgrass (Obliterations, Lecherous Gaze). Check out the advance song "Burning Shrine" below, while the full track listing is:
1. The Mountain
2. Flesh Of Fire
3. Devil's Crown
4. Palace Of Vision
5. Burning Shrine
6. Hell's Floor
7. The Beast Remains
8. Cursed Night
8. The Seeker More...

With four full-lengths and seven EPs to the band's name and having played in twenty-one countries, Oakland, California-based metal unit Saviours continues to forge ahead with towering riffs, colossal rhythms, infectious guitar harmonies, and an obsession with the end of times.
Saviours opens a new chapter in its winding career with a partnership with French label Listenable Records, which will release the band's new album this Fall. Said Saviours in a collective statement:
"We're very happy to finally announce our deal with Listenable. They're true supporters of what we do and have been a pleasure to work with thus far. Since last June we've been beating the new songs into submission and now it's really starting to take shape and sound killer.
"There are some doomy crushers and faster ragers in the mix so it's sounding like a natural and logical continuation of where we left off with Death's Procession. In March we'll play some West Coast shows then begin recording at Type Foundry in Portland with the inimitable Billy Anderson. Can't wait to get this new record out, it's been too fucking long!"

After Pallbearer marched its audience toward a giant, gaping abyss at ND, I hustled a couple blocks west to Dirty Dog Bar. I learned an important lesson last year: If you don’t have a badge or wrist band, show up early to ensure you get into the venue. Last year, I showed up a band or two into the Metal Alliance show and missed Saint Vitus and Crowbar. Once the doors opened, the bar’s staff allowed a few badge and wrist-band holders in first and then opened the flood gates to everyone else.
The Atlas Moth did not bide its time in leisurely boredom like me. The Chicago-based space sludge masters were busy setting up for their second show in the span of a couple of hours. The group filled in the vacancy left by Rwake, who also bowed out of The Atlas Moth’s earlier show. Without their planetary light show that illuminated ND’s, The Atlas Moth’s performance was not as visually stunning. Their keyboards, effects and coarse tones updated the flowery texture of traditional psychedelia. Although they call Profound Lore home, The Atlas Moth could fit right in on Neurosis’ Neurot label. Saviours has posted a new music video online through Metal Hammer titled "Crete'n," which can be viewed in the player below.
The track is taken off the band's latest album "Death’s Procession," which was recently released through Kemado Records.
Saviours has announced the release of the band's fourth album, "Death’s Procession," coming September 6th, 2011 on Kemado Records. Drummer Scott Batiste delivers this statement about the album:
“The main influence on this album was to go back to where we started - Sabbath, Maiden, Motorhead, Thin Lizzy... The whole record is a trek through Earth’s demise which everyone contributes to, oblivious or not. It’s a procession toward death. The world has gone insane. Humans have become apathetic, greedy, self-centered, over-medicated, delusional parasites in a filthy, drained and deflated world. It’s hopeless now, too far gone. Now we wait. That's what this record is about. Earth’s possession and death's procession.”
"Death’s Procession" was recorded by Phil Manley (of Trans Am and The Fucking Champs) at Lucky Cat in San Francisco. None other than Church Of Satan founder Anton Lavey makes a guest appearance of sorts -- says Batiste, “the crazy organ sounding thing through the beginning is Austin’s guitar thru Anton Lavey's old black Leslie, purchased from Lavey's estate sale... absolutely terrifying in person.”
Leading up to the release of "Death’s Procession," Kemado will release two ultra-limited, vinyl-only 12” EPs, featuring tracks from the album with other unreleased songs.
Saviours will also hit the road in September for a full North American tour with Weedeater, Bison B.C., and Fight Amp. Details are available here.
Bison B.C. is finally heading back out on the road this fall, as the Vancouver, BC based act will be joining Weedeater, Saviours, and Fight Amp from September 2nd in Lawrence, KS through October 14th in Savannah, GA. The tour will be Bison B.C.'s first full tour with new drummer Matt Wood.

Richmond, Virginia's Municipal Waste is set to return to Europe next week for a headlining tour. The band, which has just finished a short run around the USA, will be kicking off the European tour on Friday, December 3rd in Belfast, UK. Support will come from Saviours and Ramming Speed. Municipal Waste drummer Dave Witte comments:
"We are ready to return to the UK/EU with Saviours and Ramming Speed to celebrate our last tour of the year. It's gonna be awesome! Get there early, this is a great bill that you won't wanna miss!"
Front man Tony Foresta adds:
"I'm really looking forward to getting back over there. It feels like it's been forever since we've been. It seems like each time we come back the crowds get bigger and crazier. It's always good to come back year after year to see the same familiar faces as well as hordes of new ones getting rowdy to our music. I can't wait. This time we're taking Ramming Speed and Saviours. Both bands we've known for a while and dig them as friends as well as musicians, so I'm assuming that every night will be entertaining onstage as well as everywhere else this rowdy crew goes. It should be a fun one."

California's Saviours has checked in with the following recap of recent tour dates and announcement about an upcoming U.S. tour:
"We've conquered Europe with our partners in crime Black Cobra and Weedeater. The tour was insane, the shows were great, we played a bunch of festivals and cool new places we hadn't been before, we got weird and it kicked ass. Many thanks to our fearless driver Brozak, Black Cobra, Weedeater, Avocado for booking the shit, Dominic and Division for doing press stuff and most importantly all the euromaniacs who came out a raged every night with us. It was simultaneously real and unreal, if that makes any sense.
"At the end of the tour we headed to Den Haag, Holland for a quick studio trip with Guy Tavares, who does the awesome Motorwolf label. Guy and engineer Hans tracked two new songs for us the old way- 16 track, 1" tape, no punch-ins, edits or automation. We recorded one new song and then a 21 minute 'alternate' version of it, which will be mixed to full heavy psychedelic fruition by Guy over the next month and eventually included on an upcoming EP.
"Our only full US tour this year is rapidly approaching. Ozzfest should be insane and debaucherous and we're super excited for it, whatever it may entail! We've announced some pre-fest dates and some off-dates from the tour as well and we will be headlining a few select US cities on the way back from the east coast after Ozzfest. A few more dates will be announced soon. A few more big announcements are coming soon. Thanks again for all the support, its been a fucking killer summer so far!" More...
