Cathedral To Replace Behemoth At Bloodstock
Due to health issues with Behemoth frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski, the Polish blackened death metal outfit have been forced to cancel all further appearances this year, including this week's Bloodstock Open Air festival in England. Luckily for festival goers, British doom metal legends Cathedral have agreed to step in, making this their first appearance at Bloodstock.
Behemoth aren't the only band to pull out of this year's edition of the festival, October File has also been forced to cancel their appearance too, as a result of frontman Ben Hollyer exacerbating his current stomach injury at their recent Sonisphere festival set. In their place will be black metal band Winterfylleth.
Explains October File frontman Ben: "Unfortunately I have had to pull out of performing at BOA this year and our first year too! I am absolutely gutted that we can't be there. A recent injury involving my abdominal muscles tearing down the middle has made performing not possible. Have a good BOA!!"
Winterfylleth singer/guitarist Chris Naughton adds: "Winterfylleth are truly humbled to be asked to play at one of the finest metal festivals going on within our fair shores. It is a privilege for us as existing fans of the festival to now be considered amongst some of the great bands that are playing at the festival this year. We are looking forward to standing alongside acts like Gorgoroth, Behemoth and many others, bringing our brand of English inspired Black Metal to such a discerning and committed festival following. We look forward to seeing you there. Hail Bloodstock."

Winterfylleth Completes Debut Album, Posts MP3
WINTERFYLLETH has completed the recording of their debut album "The Ghost Of Heritage."
Formed with the intention to honour England’s ancestral Anglo-Saxon past, Winterfylleth (comprised of members culled from the UK’s most devastating doom contingent ATAVIST and likeminded UK comrades WODENSTHRONE) have set a solidified mission statement to bring awareness of England’s historical roots through their folk-influenced vitriolic black metal.
Coining the term English Heritage Black Metal (EHBM), Winterfylleth (which translates into Winter Full Moon in the olde English language) represents the month of October (hence the coinciding release date) and also represents the Anglo-Saxon festival of the arrival of winter. With their "Rise Of The Winter Full Moon" demo, which was done in a very limited run but generated quite a reputable response, said demo displayed a fierce focused vision on what Winterfylleth wants to achieve through their music. And with their "Ghost Of Heritage" debut, this vision becomes even more solidified and fleshed out.
"The Ghost Of Heritage" was mastered by Colin Marston of BEHOLD… THE ARCTOPUS, KRALLICE, DYSRHYTHMIA fame and is set for a mid-October 2008 release. The tracklisting is as follows: More...
Wodensthone Sign To Bindrune Recordings
English black metal band Wodensthone have signed to Bindrune Recordings. "pecializing in an atmospheric and gripping form of heathen black metal, Wodensthrone have created some of the most engaging music that we have heard from this genre in ages," the label states". By combining the varying extremes of melody, technical ferocity, subtle synth textures along with airy music breaks that can only be described as 'ancient' feeling in scope, this potent and inspiring force seeks to rekindle the fire of Odin in the hearts of modern men and pay tribute to England's Pagan roots."
Wodensthrone's yet untitled full-length on Bindrune Recordings will be unleashed towards the winter/spring of 2008. Until then, the band has completed all the material and recording for their half of an upcoming split CD with fellow countrymen, Winterfylleth on the latter bands own label. More info will be made available as this release approaches completion.
