Dirge Within Reveals New Album Artwork

Chicago's Dirge Within (formerly known as Dirge) have issued the following announcement about revealing the artwork for their upcoming album "Force Fed Lies:"

"We just got home from a nice few days in Charlotte,NC filming the new video for Forever The Martyr with thee amazing RAMON BOUTVISETH(Trivium,Incubus)this shit is going to look pretty damn sick,bombs,etc etc.also we have now posted the new album cover up @ our myspace page so check it out.Mr Stephen Jensen from f3 studios did a sick ass job on the album"s art and photos also we have been asked by the might JAGER music family to appear this sunday july 26th @ there jager stage for the Rockstar Mayhem tinley park,il show so come down and rage with us.a few more shows are on for august. one with the crushing 7DUST and our cd release show in Kenosha,wi Aug 28th @ the plav.for all asking for NEW music we will be posting a punishing new song in the next week so hang tight til then."

Dirge Posts Album Update Online

Chicago based metal band Dirge (which features former SOiL guitarist Shaun Glass) has posted a new studio update online, which reads as follows: "Here we are on Feburary 11th. 2009 and all the music is 100 % done. We're knee deep in the trenches at the Dope Factory and close to done wrapping up the vocals.

"(Vocalist) Jerms has really shined on this mofo and we can't wait for all the vocal tracking to be done shortly. Some of the new songs that will for sure be on this slab of metal are 'Force Fed Lies', 'Spit', 'As I Walk' and 'New Disease'.

Dirge Begins Recording of New Album

Chicago metallers, Dirge, have issued the following update

"Yes it is true we have begun the recording for the album! We are in the studio working along with Edsel Dope as producer, and Chris Wisco enginering for the debut album aimed for Spring 2009. We know everyone keeps asking when will the album be out? what Label? , what color shoes does Jerms wear? etc etc...(joke) All this and more will be out of the bag Soon! Dirge To Support Dope On Upcoming Shows

Dirge, the new band featuring ex-SOiL guitarist Shaun Glass has announced that they will be the main support act for Dope on their upcoming shows.

The dates are as follows:

“Well, where do we begin??? Things have been crazy in a killer way with all the amazing shows we just wrapped up (Jager tour dates w/Hatebreed & the amazing Dope/Kittie shows, etc). Alot of you have been asking to hear some new Dirge music, so we wanted to share a taste of what’s to come! The track is called “Confession” and has become a live favorite at recent shows. We have been busting ass in the studio with Edsel from Dope producing and Chris Djuricic(studio one) enginering.The new songs are sounding amazing. we feel it is the most punishing stuff we have ever written. also we enlisted the one and only James Murphy (Testament, Death) of Safehouse production to mix and master this track, although only a snippet, we think you can get a good vibe of some fresh Metal!!!”

Dirge Post New Song Online

DIRGE, the new extreme metal project featuring ex-SOIL guitarist Shaun Glass, THE DOOMSDAY SOCIAL drummer James Knight (ex-THE BLANK THEORY, CHACOPA) and A TEXAS FUNERAL vocalist Jermz, has posted a new song, entitled "The Last Goodbye", on its MySpace page. The track was recorded at Studio One in Racine, Wisconsin and was mixed at SafeHouse Productions by James Murphy (DEATH, OBITUARY, TESTAMENT).

According to Shaun, who previously played bass in the 1990s death metal act BROKEN HOPE, DIRGE's musical direction is "total fucking extreme metal in a very modern thrash style."

SOiL Guitarist Forms New Band, Dirge

SOiL guitarist Shaun Glass has teamed with vocalist Jermz (A Texas Funeral) and drummer James Knight (ex-The Blank Theory) to form a new band, Dirge. Audio from the band, which Glass has described as "total f--king extreme metal in a very modern trash style," will be available on MySpace shortly.

The new project will not affect SOiL who will launch the US edition of their "True Rock" tour in May.
