Chicago based metal band Dirge (which features former SOiL guitarist Shaun Glass) has posted a new studio update online, which reads as follows: "Here we are on Feburary 11th. 2009 and all the music is 100 % done. We're knee deep in the trenches at the Dope Factory and close to done wrapping up the vocals.

"(Vocalist) Jerms has really shined on this mofo and we can't wait for all the vocal tracking to be done shortly. Some of the new songs that will for sure be on this slab of metal are 'Force Fed Lies', 'Spit', 'As I Walk' and 'New Disease'.

"One thing I can say... this is one well rounded album from shreddin solos and flying double bass to machine gun riffage, this album really has it all and is hands down thee best album I have ever made, no bullshittin' here people.

"Also, a few guests are throwing down some sick lead work on a track. Mr. Corey Beaulieu of TRIVUM, Michael Angelo Batio shredder of NITRO fame!!! Fuckin FREIGHT TRAIN people also a few more peeps will be revealed soon.

"We are also taking part with for our bros LAZARUS A.D. CD release show (Metal Blade) on February 28th in Kenosha, WI.

"Prepare... 2009 all will be seeing and hearing alot from The Dirge."
