Necro Leaves Sounds Of The Underground Tour

Self proclaimed "death rap" artist Necro has issued the follwing statement from his official Myspace:

"I decided to leave the tour collectively with my manager and booking agent (both tour organizers) because we felt the tour’s demographic was not receiving hip hop well. I was facing hostile, disrespectful crowds and was returning the same energy back ten-fold by being more aggressive than them.

It was making a lot of people in the tour crew nervous and there was concern someone might get hurt (NOT ME). It was also being suggested that maybe I tone down my live show and not antagonize the already antagonistic crowd. I couldn’t roll with that as it’s not my style. I was holding back enough as it is but there is a line. All the bands on the tour loved us and everyone behind the scenes knew we displayed major heart and never once got phased by the hostility. We finished every show with middle fingers up and a big "Fuck You" to the crowd.

I will make one thing clear for the haters: we NEVER got booed OFF the stage. Not once. Yes a ton of emo kids booed us at every show, but we had a twenty-five minute set every night and we stayed on stage for every minute of it, and we represented. Every show had at least 100 to 200 Necro fans in the pit tearing it up, and our meet and greets were incredible!

It’s just a shame these little kids are so close-minded. The majority of the hate was coming from mop top emo sixteen-year olds who have no clue who the originators of metal are, and didn’t respect my rest in peace chant to metal legends (Dime, Cliff, Chuck, Piggy, SOB).

As far as the tour organizers and I are concerned, you are my people so it’s all love and I’m thankful for the opportunity to prove I can murder it in the worst of situations. This actually did a lot for me and is just one move in many my team will make to blow Necro up"

Coalesce Confirms Tour, New Release

As has been rumored, Coalesce will indeed be touring in August. Additionally, the group has also announced plans to release a new 7", titled "Salt and Passage," on September 11th. The current line-up of the band is: Jes Steineger, Nathan Richardson, Nathan Ellis, and Sean Ingram.

Regarding, their intentions, etc., the group comments: "Instead of looking at Coalesce as a second career or some ego-stroking project to prove something within modern music, it is being held closely and personally by the members as their time to put aside familial duties, work, school, or whatnot, and simply 'do it.' In short, we just want to hang out together again and play our shows out of a peculiar love for doing so (in all it's ugly purity)... Please let us make it very clear that this is not a 'reunion' tour in any way shape or form. Since it's simply the nature of coalesce to come and go as it pleases, terms like 'reunion' make no sense when applied to it."

The upcoming tour will feature support from Daughters, See You Next Tuesday (on the East Coast), and This Is My Condition (in the Midwest). Here are the tour dates:

8/15 Worcester, MA @ The Palladium
8/16 Philadelphia, PA @ First Unitarian Church

The band have just announced they will be hitting the road for the first time in 2007 on a headlining US tour, supported by THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD, DESPISED ICON, ALL SHALL PERISH, SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY and GENGHIS TRON.

"This summer marks our first full US headlining tour since the release of Clients. The tour is five bands, all on different labels bringing their own styles, identities and sounds to the table to make this run into the biggest and best experience it can be for all involved, especially the kids coming to check it out." Says frontman Guy Kozowyk "It is an honor and a pleasure to have Through the Eyes of the Dead, Despised Icon, All Shall Perish, See You Next Tuesday and Genghis Tron (only for three days - but three days of Genghis Tron is better than no Genghis Tron, right?) on this tour. The Acacia Strain Give Tour, Lineup Updates

Fresh off supporting THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD and From A Second Story Window along with labelmates LIGHT THIS CITY, Massachusetts' THE ACACIA STRAIN has returned home before hitting the road again in January and February. Vocalist Vincent Bennett has offered a bulky band update via the band's MySpace page:

"Hello everyone in heavyland. Vincent here with a large update. We haven't spoken in a while so I figured I'd bring you guys up to speed. The Daniel [Dan Daponde, guitar] has bowed out gracefully. For those of you have been asking about Daniel J. Daponde, here are your answers: due to health problems, Dan has been forced to leave his position as a badass guitar player in The Acacia Strain. We miss him a whole bunch, and we are sure you all do as well. Wish him luck in his future endeavors!"

"We are NOT currently looking for a replacement. Please stop asking. When we do end up looking for another guitarist, we will let you know. For now, here is what you might want to strive for:

1. At LEAST one year of tour experience as a musician
2. Commitment to us and the road, we are never home.
3. A good attitude!
4. Willingness and the ability to write music.

"There is more, but like I said...We aren?t really looking right now. DL [Daniel Laskiewicz] is doing pretty well on his own.

"The tour with Through The Eyes of The Dead, From A Second Story Window, and Light This City was fucking amazing! Thanks to all who came out and had a good time! See you again in January/February! Speaking of which, we are touring in Jan/Feb with Job For A Cowboy, Psyopus, See You Next Tuesday and Daath! DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO MAKE IT TO ONE OF THESE SHOWS. It?s going to be bruuuuuutal. See you there!"

See You Next Tuesday Enter The Studio

Travis (bass) of experimental grind/metal band See You Next Tuesday has issued an update:

A lot of news around the See You Next Tuesday camp. Today we enter the studio with Andreas Magnusson to record our first full-length album, which will be releasd on Ferret Music on March 20th of 2007. The biggest news we have to offer though, is that we have gone through yet another member change.

Bear is no longer a part of See You Next Tuesday. Health and other personal reasons have left him no choice but to quit. There are no hard feelings, though. We love Bear and wish him all the best.

Stepping in to fill the void is our friend Fox, formerly of Flesh and Blood Robot. If you are at all familiar with FABR you will know that Fox will be a perfect fit. We are very excited to have him on board and look forward to continuing our rigorous schedule. Everything is back on track and all our future plans are as they were before Bear left.

After the studio we will be hitting the road with Job For A Cowboy, The Acacia Strain, and those grizzly ass men in Psyopus - so hopefully we'll have a chance to show Fox off to everyone.

The Acacian Strain, Daath Added To JFAC Tour

The final two bands that will be accompanying Job for a Cowboy, Psyopus, and See You Next Tuesday will be Prosthetic Records The Acacia Strain and Roadrunner Records Daath, which features infamous death-metal drummer Kevin Talley. The tour kicks off on January 12th in Menomonee, WI and will end on February 18th in Arlington Heights, IL. With ticket prices between $10 and $12, there is no excuse not to catch what is sure to be one of the most brutal tours out in the underground in early 2007.

Chris from Psyopus had this comment: "The upcoming tour with Job For a Cowboy, The Acacia Strain, Daath and See You Next Tuesday is going to crush for sure, and we hope to see everyone we have met over the last few months at these shows."

Here's what guitarist Ravi has to say: "We are very proud to be a part of this tour. It will come at an exciting time for us as we will be coming out of the studio and going on the road with our friends who happen to be some of our favorite bands. Come out to the shows, support these awesome bands, and have a good time."

In other news, Job for a Cowboy will be entering the studio in December to record their debut release for Metal Blade Records that will hit stores in spring 2007.

See You Next Tuesday Signs With Ferret Music

Ferret Music has issued the following press release regarding the signing of grindcore band See You Next Tuesday:

Ferret Music would like to welcome See You Next Tuesday as the newest artist to their roster. This Michigan based four piece plays what they simply refer to as "Brutal Grind for brutal dudes" but aficionados of brutal music will also note the band's use of innovation and experimentation to expand the genre past blast beats and cookie monster growls. Main songwriter Drew Slavik (guitar) who never repeats chords in the band's songs is obsessed with bringing back the 80's shred style. Commenting on this he says "I only play vintage 80's Kramers and made it my mission to bring back the whammy bar!" Similarly driven vocalist Brandon "Bear" Schroeder can deliver screams in two pitches at once using a circular breathing technique similar to the throat singing method of the Tibetan Tuvan monks. Completing the arsenal, rhythm section of Andy Dalton (drums) and Travis Martin (bass) populate the bottom end with enough propulsion to launch an A-Bomb.

It is hard to believe that this same band only started two and a half years ago as a joke. "I originally was playing bass and just decided to pick up the guitar on a whim, our drummer is a guitar player and our vocalist was given the job because he had cool facial hair" Slavik admits. Writing a ridiculously over the top grind album in three weeks, the band self-released it and played locally for close to a year. Recounted by Slavik "We realized that we could write songs that didn't suck and people actually enjoyed what we did as a joke, so we thought, what could we do if we took this seriously?" The band who averages twenty one years old have been touring non-stop over the past year across the continental U.S. as well as Canada and Tijuana, Mexico. These self-booked tours have been as little as four days at a time and as much as a month straight. Playing with relatively every notable band in heavy music in recent history, the band has developed an especially strong bond with Number 12 Looks Like You and A Job For A Cowboy. Ferret Music kept hearing the buzz about this band from different sources including Number 12's manager and came calling.

See You Next Tuesday will be recording their Ferret debut later this year with Andreas Magnusson (Scarlet, The Black Dahlia Murder) for an early 2007 debut. You can check them out here.
