High On Fire has announced that they have had to pull out of the Speed Of The Wizard tour, alongside Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust and Haunt.
The band has provided a statement: "(Guitarist, vocalist) Matt (Pike) has a medical emergency culminating in the partial amputation of one of his toes. The scheduling of this procedure is immediate and the recovery time will overlap our intended tour with MW. We will unfortunately be unable to participate in this tour but will be back stronger than ever in 2019!"
The tour itself will continue on without High on Fire as scheduled. Municipal Waste has provided a statement: "First and foremost we wish our friend Matt the best of luck with his recovery. We need him, the metal world in general needs him. We would much rather have him miss a tour to heal up rather than not having any more Matt Pike music in the future. High On Fire‘s new album is amazing and we love him and his band mates so much. That being said after much discussion us Toxic and Haunt are still going to do the tour. It just makes sense, why make something negative worse? Get better Matt we love you."
Earlier this month, High On Fire frontman Matt Pike was interviewed by Metal Underground, where he discussed the band's new album, "Electric Messiah," Lemmy and more. You can check it out below. More...

Toxic Holocaust Issues Album Update
The follow-up to "Chemistry of Consciousness" is nearly complete, with Toxic Holocaust posting this message online updating the fanbase on progress:
"New Toxic album is about 90% finished, still need to finish up some arrangements and some lyrics but it's getting close. Once everything is dialed in I hope to start recording in February. It's shaping up to be a little more fist pumping and rock n roll than previous stuff but still kinda has that D-beat shit going on from the last record. No wimp out, still gonna be raw and gross.
"Also, this will sort of be a return to the origins of the band in a way as it will be a solo effort like back in the old days. I get a lot of questions and requests about doing a solo record again (ala Evil Never Dies and Hell on Earth...hence the Yellowgoat record) so I thought it would be a cool change and something different that what most bands do. This doesn't effect the lineup, they will still be playing live with the band." More...
