Crucified Barbara Confirmed For Wacken Open Air
Sweden's Crucified Barbara have announced they will perform at the Wacken Open Air Festival 2010. The festival will take place from August 5th to 7th, 2010. Other confirmed bands so far include Amorphis, Alice Cooper, Arch Enemy, Cannibal Corpse, Edguy, Iron Maiden, Ghost Brigade, Lake of Tears, Mötley Crüe, Slayer, U.D.O, and W.A.S.P.
Martin Axenrot Appears In Animal Rights Calendar
Opeth has issued the following update about their drummer Martin Axenrot appearing in an animal rights calendar:
"Djurens Rätt, Sweden's largest non-profit animal rights organization asked if Axe and his cat Max would be interested in being photographed for a very special calendar of Rock Stars and their pets. Axe being a big animal lover didn't hesitate one second which resulted in Max & Axe being Misters July!

We left Rockweekend and the hotel in Bollnäs 3 in the morning, after having 3 hours of sleep (at least some of us...) and as Rick Roadrage drove us safely to Arlanda Airport we were all sleeping like stones in the bus. I can't really understand how we all could be so shitfaced in just a few hours the evening before, but we did, and it was extremely strange to be up this early, trying to check in for another adventure, when our bodies wanted nothing but laying down in a warm bed, having someone to feed them with pizza and ...lots of water....More...

The first single from the upcoming CRUCIFIED BARBARA has been announced as "Sex Action." Their full-length eleven-track album, "Til Death Do Us Party" is scheduled for release November 19, 2008. The album is produced by Mats Levén.

Diamond Head Confirmed For Hard Rock Hell
UK NWOBHM legends DIAMOND HEAD are the latest act confirmed for Britain's Hard Rock Hell - The Winter Ball festival which is taking place from November 9th - 11th at Butlins in Minehead, UK (Somerset).

Crucified Barbara Embark On Tour Of France
Swedish all-female quartet CRUCIFIED BARBARA (photo) — whose debut album, "In Distortion We Trust", will be released by Liquor and Poker Music on May 30 — will kick off a nine-show French tour Friday night (April 14). It includes a Le Mans show alongside KILLING JOKE on April 22.
"We're looking forward to get back to France once again, to play it loud and eat a lot of French cheese!" says vocalist/guitarist Mia Coldheart. "The French guys know how to put a dressing room table in order forsure! After this, we're heading for Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands to play cool rock clubs, do festivals, meet new people and kick some rock ass!"
The shows in Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands will be with DORO, SONATA ARCTICA and JON OLIVA'S PAIN. From there, the group will play such major European summer festivals as Sweden Rock, Gods of Metal (Italy) and Rock Hard (Germany), among others.
The North American version of "In Distortion We Trust" will contain one bonus track — a cover of MOTÖRHEAD's "Killed By Death" — as well as music videos for each of the group's three singles ("Losing The Game", "Rock 'n' Roll Bachelor" and "Play Me Hard") that have been released in their home country.
