New York thrashers, Devils Island, have posted the following update on their Myspace page regarding their upcoming EP, "Coma Dreams"
"Coma Dreams is out!
Alrite, we wanna know what you think, hit up the song clips and take a listen. The cover is up as well, check it out. Some news on the EP will follow shortly in blog/bulletin form. At any rate, thank you all who have made a new recording a reality for us. Without the DI family (let's lump friends, fans, bands, and biological family together here), this would not be possible. The shiny disc will be available for sale shortly.

Original Devils Island Guitarist Dies at 21
Devils Island post the following update on their myspace page regarding the death of their first guitarist:
"It is hard and unreal to write this. One of Devils Island's founding members, Ivan Martynovich, died in a car crash saturday night. He was 21. Over these years, Ivan managed to do more crazy shit than most guys will ever think about. He was crazy, but he harbored wisdom, charm, the biggest heart and the biggest pair of balls Ukraine has ever produced. He died doing what he loved - driving fast. A true friend, a deserving son, and one of the few good men. We still cannot comprehend that he had to go.

Second Annual Brooklyn Metal Fest Announced
Magus Beast announce the following details about the two-day event, Brooklyn Metalfest:
"It is with Great Pleasure that we announce the Second annual BROOKLYN METALFEST to take place at the Hook on Friday June 22nd and Saturday June 23rd. This year’s event will be a TWO-DAY FESTIVAL with the first band hitting the stage at 7pm on Friday and at 12 noon on Saturday. Admission will be $15 dollars for single day tickets and $20 for two day passes. There will also be a FREE BBQ for all paid admissions (FREE FOOD ONLY).
This year’s festival is really shaping up to be a killer event. We have added ROSS THE BOSS - former guitarist of metal legend MANOWAR and the DICTATORS) playing a full Manowar set, SEVEN WITCHES – featuring Jack Frost (Savatage, Speed, Bronx Casket Co) and former Hades/Non-Fiction Lead Singer Alan Tecchio, and BRAND NEW SIN – who will be spending the Spring touring with Type O Negative. Also highlighted on the bill are Queens based Metal Veterans MAGUS BEAST and Long Island’s own, CONSTRICTED. LMP Recording artists and Brooklyn Natives ZANDELLE will be performing in support of their latest release as well as New Jersey Power Metallers OVERLORDE will be playing their first show in 2 years, and their first NYC tri-state area show since the December 2004 release of its critically acclaimed CD titled RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT. New York thrash metal band Devils Island have posting a new song entitled 'coma dreams' on their myspace page. The song was recorded from a live show on 03-24-06 at The Continental.
Life of Agony Guitarist Guest @ Brooklyn Metalfest
Joey Z, guitarist for Brooklyn's LIFE OF AGONY, will be appearing as a
special guest of Hartke Amps and CONSTRICTED at the 1st Annual Brooklyn Metalfest this Saturday, June 24th, at The Hook, located at 18 Commerce Street, in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Metalfest is an all day metal festival showcasing some of the area's best metal bands.
Admission is only $10. There will be a free BBQ running all day for all paid admissions (free food only), raffles for free Hartke guitar and bass amplifiers, and tons of other great giveaways! Hartke Amps, Samson Audio, Zoom Effect Pedals and Unstoppable Force Web-zine are sponsoring the event. Also on hand will be Ferox films. They will be filming for a yet untitled tri-state area metal documentary. The doors open at 1:30 and the first band starts promptly at 2pm. Come on out and enjoy an awesome day of metal!

Brooklyn Metalfest - All Day Underground Festival
The first annual BROOKLYN METALFEST, an all day festival showcasing some of the area best underground Metal acts will take place on Saturday June 24 a the Hook in Brooklyn, NY. The doors open at 2pm and the first band hits the stage at 2:30 PM. Admission will be $10 and there will be a Free BBQ out in the club’s yard.
The show will be sponsored in part by SAMSON TECHNOLOGIES and HARTKE AMPS.

Devils Island Drummer Leaves
Brooklyn thrash metal band, Devils Island, post an update on myspace regarding the loss of their Drummer:
"Greets ladies and germs, the time has come upon us to lose a founding and integral member of our band, our drummer Anthony DiSpigna. Just played his last show with us, which we thank him for, he rolled the drums like a maniac. This is where YOU come in. We need a skinbasher, fast. Our new demo is coming out soon, and we have a few gigs aligned. We need a drummer people, and if you are one, or you know one, and you like our shit, contact us. Thanx a lot. Drink, and keep it METAL!
