Ravenous Posts New Music Video Online
Canadian power metal Ravenous is celebrating the one-year anniversary of their highly praised 2021 album "Hubris" with a new music video for their track "Claw Is The Law" that features guest vocals, accordion, and mandolin from members of The Dread Crew of Oddwood.
The video idea came from Wolfbeard O’Brady (Reece Miller - The Dread Crew of Oddwood, Frontman) and was fully edited/animated by him in celebration of the 1 year anniversary of Ravenous’ sophomore album "Hubris" and the 30-year anniversary of the Mortal Kombat video game.
"I’ve always wanted to do a fighting game music video, and I felt like this collaboration was a perfect opportunity to rep the over-the-top everything that is ‘Claw Is The Law’." comments The Dread Crew of Oddwood's Wolfbeard O’Brady.

Ravenous To Record Live DVD In Edmonton
Canada’s Ravenous will be unleashing their new album "Hubris" on October 22nd via Feast Beast Records for North America plus Europe and for Asia via Spiritual Beast.
Before the full-length officially drops, the band is hosting two CD release shows for Alberta fans in Edmonton and Calgary. The Edmonton event will be hosted on October 9th at The Starlite Room, which will include a live DVD recording in support of "Hubris" and for their hometown crowd in Calgary, they will be performing on October 15th at Dickens.
The band hints at what attendees can expect from their live show:
"First-time fans can expect our performance and costumes to be akin to going to a Queen show in their early pub days, but with fast-riffs, blast beats, and more crowd-singing than you can shake a claw at! Our fans have a tendency to make people feel welcome, like joining a giant IRL Discord server, so the fans all become friends over time and that community not only strengthens us as a band, but also boosts the rest of the industry, so first-timers will find they left the show with more friends than they came in with!"
Details for the CD release shows can be found on Ravenous' Facebook page here.
Ravenous Reveals New Album, "Hubris" Details
This year, Calgary’s Ravenous is giving metalheads another reason to be famished after the long musical starvation experienced around the globe. They are releasing their new full-length album "Hubris," which continues to reminisce about a time when metal was hungry.
This will be the second full-length release, following 2019’s "Eat the Fallen," and 2017’s "Eternal Hunger" EP. Working collaboratively, so that the strengths of each musician can stand out and compliment the others, Ravenous have grown from doing basic fist-pumping heavy metal songs into writing complex, dense, and multilayered dark symphonic power metal anthems. The band doesn’t just caw about hunger, they take lyrical inspiration from personal experiences, books, movies, games, (especially Magic: the Gathering), classic poetry, folklore, and historical events.
They explain the album in their own words:
"Lyrically, the album tells 10 stories from various sources all surrounding Hubris, the notion of arrogance and the hunger for power, resulting in the demise of the story’s main characters - beneath the surface, hidden messages are scattered throughout various lyrical lines that pertain to the band’s real-life experiences. Musically, the album is the marriage of European Anthemic Power Metal and American Speed Metal, with a penchant for speed and aggression accentuating the dynamics of the music." More...
