Decadence To Record New Single
Sweden's Decadence has issued the following announcement about recording a new single:
"The first single off Decadence’ new (5th!) album will be recorded during February 18th-20th at West Wood Music. Producer in charge: Victor Meding, co-produced by Kenneth Lantz. This exclusive single will be released by UK based label Femme Metal Records on their special 2011 compilation album, scheduled on September 26. The compilation will be released in the UK (distributed by Code 7 via Plastic Head) and in Germany (distributed by Twilight in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands). The profits from the sales will be donated to charity; National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
"This single version will be different from the album version so don’t miss out on this special occasion before the 5th basher is unleashed! More info will be posted about this as we go along.
"Besides that in the Decadence camp, we are preparing for our show at Kolingsborg in Stockholm on March 2. Kudos to the promoter in charge Henrik Gennert – you remind me of myself back in the day. We’re looking forward to this!"
Decadence Splits With Guitarist
Decadence has issued the following update about parting ways with guitarist Niklas Skogqvist and gearing up to enter the studio:
"It’s been a while since you last heard from us. We have an announcement to make before we can move on with more news. Niklas Skogqvist on 2nd guitar decided to leave the band last month. We have not yet decided if we will continue as a quartet. In fact, our music is more technically suited for two guitarists and we might therefore need a second guitarist again. Decadence is down to its solid quartet and we’ll see which turn we take after that. Nicke felt that he had too many things going on in his life. He said Decadence needs a guitarist that gives 100% which he says he was not able to do.
"Some of his own words: 'I want you all to know that I’ve had an awesome experience with you. I have had so much fun during these two years and I really wish I could go on with it. I’ve always enjoyed being with you, both as musicians by my side and as four best buddies. Missing you already, and of course, this decision consists of many emotions. But as I said, it’s been a blast being with you and you’re awesome at what you do. So a big tribute to you, I know you will go far with this, and knowing you, you will never give up. I wish the best for you because you are the best.' - Nicke
"We in Decadence wish Nicke the very best in the future and we feel with all our fans who believed in this line-up. Apart from all this, we have a gap in our tour dates since Venezuela this summer but now I (Kitty) have put my claws into this again and new shows are being planned at the moment in Europe. A heads up to all promoters who have bands to book for the spring/summer 2011, now you know Decadence will be traveling in Europe nearby you then. More...
Decadence Posts Third Tour Report
Sweden's Decadence has checked in with a third tour report from the band's time in Venezuela. An excerpt from the report follows:
The concert was over and the huge adrenalin rush from the night before had eased. The day after was a day of pure chill-out. We in Decadence met in the morning for breakfast and then we headed straight for the pool! It was great to know that we had the whole day to do whatever we wanted. We stayed by the pool for a couple of hours until Roberto and Jorge from our crew arrived. We took it easy, talked and after a while we had some new plans going! Later that evening our Venezuelan Street Team would come to our hotel and hang out. Other than that we wanted to see more of Caracas during the next-coming days so we decided to head up to the mountains for one day and also see some more of the city during the other days. We also had two photoshoots planned, one for the Cancer Foundation to be done at Hard Rock Café in Caracas and the other for promo shots in a modified hotel room! Our last day in Venezuela was already reserved for the Decadence Goodbye Party at a local pub.
After so many hours of chill-out by the pool we all looked like lobsters. The Street Teamers arrived later during the evening, Hirax joined in and we had lots of fun the rest of that night! The next day we met Jorge and he took us to some Venezuelan shopping malls – much different to what we’re used to in Europe! We were at the El Tolon mall and stayed and took some coffee and tea at Havanna Café at the mall CC San Ignacio (where the Meet n’ Greet was held before).More...
Decadence Posts Second Tour Report
Sweden's Decadence has checked in with another tour report from the band's time in Venezuela. An excerpt from the report follows:
You all who read Venezuela Part I: Meet n’ Greet know that we in Decadence had a great time in Caracas right from the start. The day after the Meet n’ Greet it was time for our concert, our first concert in Venezuela ever. It was set on June 18, 2010 in the capital city Caracas at the venue Amfiteatro Del Hatillo. It was a coliseum shaped venue where the stage was placed below the audience, and a positive surprise for us was that it was open air!
A thing we noticed about Venezuela is that the concept of time is different from other places we are used to in the world  That’s from where the name “Decadence 15 Minute Tour” came to life (credits to Jorge)! Because that’s exactly what everyone told us: “It’ll take 15 minutes to get there… In 15 minutes the ride arrives…There’s 15 minutes to sound check…” and so on! It was difficult to get used to at first but after a while we started to enjoy the fact that we didn’t need a watch. Quite relaxing actually!More...
Decadence Posts Tour Report
Sweden's Decadence has posted a new tour blog online from the band's time in Venezuala. An excerpt from the blog follows:
"We are back from Caracas, Venezuela where we have spent one of the best weeks of our lives. It’s been an amazing experience and we’ve met so many great people, new friends and all this thanks to Mattey Magazine (with Roberto, Rafael, Jorge, Miztika and Leo at the helm), one of the best, top class organizers there is.
"We want to share some of the things that we experienced during our stay in Venezuela so you will be able to follow up on our stories through some blog posts like this one! Here comes Part I: We did not know much about Venezuela before coming there so we arrived on June 16 2010 to Simon Bolivar International Airport (CCS) with new eyes, ready for anything and everything. It turned out to be a good attitude because Venezuela is something completely new, different and unique. Mattey’s crew took care of us right from the start by taking us to our great hotel to get some rest from our long 13 hour travel. More...

Decadence Issues Japanese Tour Recap
Swedish metallers Decadence have issued the following post-tour update from their Japanese tour dates:
"So I’m back in office again after an amazing time spent in Japan! The high points were definitely my unexpected visit to Loud Park, the great interviews and spending time with our label guys at Spiritual Beast ('Akihabara!'). Special thanks to BURRN! Magazine (I truly appreciate your deep understanding and interest in Decadence), Eat Magazine (we’ll talk some more about my travels!) and Young Guitarist (it means a lot to me that you brought up myself as a guitarist and let me in the discussion with Hibria’s two guitarists as well!).
"I also want to give my special thanks to the wonderful fans that I met on the signing session at Disk Union (thank you for a great preparation Disk Union!), the fans at Loud Park, the fans at the hotel (even the hotel personnel!), the interpreter ('we should have stolen that door mat at BURRN! Corporation!'), the radio stations (Masa Ito’s Power Rock Today on Bay FM, Captain Wada’s Geki Rock on FM Kokoro, Captain Wada’s Rock Drive on FM Yokohama, Foolish G on Air-G, Rock Stream on Honey FM, Happy Together with DJ Hiromi), video streams (Rock City on TV and Barks internet channel) and of course my traveling companion Soile Siirtola ('Nu har vi gjort allt! Hint hint'). I might have missed to mention someone here and if so I’m sorry for that but do know that every small detail counts – always.
"I hope to share some photos from the trip here later! I felt warmly welcome and my hope is to have Decadence with me next time and to perform for all of you! And you know, if there’s a will…"

Decadence Issues Road Report
Swedish metallers Decadence has issued the following road report:
"We are back from the Sweden Rock Festival 2009! This year we had a bigger adventure as a whole, both during the actual travel and also from the whole show itself. We travelled to Solvesborg on the 3rd of June and later that same day, at midnight, we were up on stage. It was a long travel and really awful weather, dull, rainy and cold. Although, we had lots of fun on the road as well!
"We were a bit worried about how we would manage to play in that cold in our thin clothes. We came to Solvesborg around 4 p.m., unloaded our stuff in the backstage area by the Alarm Stage and wandered off into the depths of the Sweden Rock Festival grounds.
