Kill The Precedent Offering Song For Free Download

Sacramento, CA-based electro / thrash metal collective Kill The Precedent will release new EP, "Some Version of the Truth," tomorrow via minus HEAD Records. In celebration of tomorrow's release, a free download of the "Irrational Anthem" track is now available at PureGrainAudio here and streaming below.

Vocalist Twig the Exfoliator states: "We took our time with this one, and it's probably one of the first tracks we wrote in which each member had a say, including some members who are no longer with us. 'Irrational Anthem' stems from a five second drum loop that we came up with a few years ago, and over time we just kept adding music and lyrics as they came to us.

"Art began to imitate life (or vice versa), because as we continued to write the song, it seemed the people in which the song was about came to act more irrational in their life decisions. We picked up on that along the way and wrote about it every chance we got, and I believe it shows in our lyrics. It's a song for them. It's their anthem." More...

Kill The Precedent Posts New Video

Sacramento, CA-based electro speed metal collective Kill The Precedent will release new EP, "Some Version of the Truth," on February 24th, 2017 via minus HEAD Records. Today a new music video for "Lesser of Two Evils" - directed by Brian Cox of Flarelight Films - can be seen below.

Vocalist Twig the Exfoliator says, "You never really know who you're going to meet on Tinder, and in this case, who's to say it went wrong? Maybe that's exactly what we all need every once in a while - a rude awakening to find out that someone is not the perfect match the internet says they'll be! You have to be careful out there! When you open yourself up to internet dating, you're potentially opening yourself up to CRAZY."

Don't miss Kill The Precedent performing at an official CD release party, taking place at Sacramento's Harlow's (2708 J Street) this Friday, February 17th at 9:00pm. The show will also feature Horseneck, Peace Killers and The Moans. More...

Kill The Precedent Releasing New EP

Kill The Precedent consists of seven maniacs from Sacramento, CA - Twig the Exfoliator [vocals], The Ugly American [vocals], Tapeworm [guitar, electronics], Catastrofiend [guitar, visuals], Jimmy Hazard [guitar], Jon the Jew [bass], and Sgt. Pepper [drums].

The group shreds expectations with a singular style of crossover gonzo gutter thrash fueled by reckless punk abandon on upcoming EP, "Some Version of the Truth," due out February 24th, 2017 via minus HEAD Records.

"So much music is missing a sense of urgency," exclaims Twig the Exfoliator. "We want to bring that danger back."

In late 2016, Kill The Precedent entered Pus Caverns in Sacramento, CA with producer Joe Johnston and quickly cut seven anthems, including the singles "Two Way Mirrors" (streaming below) and "Watch What You Think."

"Most of our songs are obviously pissed off about something," grins Twig while discussing the "Two Way Mirrors" track. "This song is a good example. It's about somebody who blames everyone else for their problems, and doesn't realize that they're not only their own worst enemy, but now everyone else's. We all know someone like that." More...
