Grave Digger Raises The Dead In London

With all the many sub genres and styles in metal today, sometimes the old guard gets shuffled away or forgotten about. Those still paying attention however will discover many groups still performing the classic heavy metal sound, both old and new. Tonight was a mixture of both, as German metal stalwarts Grave Digger came to the Tufnell Park Dome, bringing with them Swiss up and comers Burning Witches.

The Dome is a fine little venue, with a stage big enough to accommodate some props and smoke, which definitely helps at a show like this. It may be a little uncommon, but the venue began filling up quite early, due to the buzz and excitement of seeing Burning Witches perform in the United Kingdom for the first time. The hype was something well worth believing in, as the five women from Brugg put on one hell of a show. Lead singer Seraina Telli has been referred to several times as "the female Rob Halford" and she's very deserving of this comparison, boasting a voice which soars like an eagle and pierces like a bullet. Grave Digger Posts New Video Online

It might be the most surprising song Grave Digger has ever released. After nearly four decades of true German heavy metal, the time has come to reach out to different musical influences. After listening to “Zombie Dance” we know for sure that Polka and Metal fit perfect together. This collaboration with their labelmates Russkaja will make you dance, especially when it’s played live on their upcoming “Tour Of The Living Dead”. Be aware!

Chris Boltendahl on “Zombie Dance”:
“Polka and Metal – is that fitting? With “Zombie Dance” we are opening the gate to hell for every incarnate, true metalhead and Grave Digger fan. But to be honest … the symbiosis between Metal and Polka turns out to be perfect and calls on everyone to dance and headbang. You wanted PARTY – you’ve got it !!! With “Zombie Dance” and its video we give you a late summer hit in 2018. Whoever stands still or remains seated while this song is played is already dead or not born yet!!” More...

Fall Of Summer Adds Five More Bands

The Fall of Summer team is excited to reveal five new bands the impending 2017 line-up, with the festival's organizers commenting:

"Let's get started with a very important project to us, as French metalheads and heavy metal lovers, with a tribute band to the cult heavy metal group Sortilege! Before giving you more details soon, we are very proud to tell you that some original members of the band will come on stage for the occasion!

"Still heavy metal to the core, let's raise our fist and start the rebellion together with German legends Grave Digger! It's also a great pleasure for us to welcome the cult American thrash metal band Toxik for a first show in France.

"Last but not least we are glad to announce two great American death metal bands, with grind death masters of Cattle Decapitation and veterans from Broken Hope, who reformed 5 years ago with Jeremy Wagner joined by vocalist Damian Leski from Gorgasm and other talented musicians, without stopping by the Paris area at all. They had to, at some point, and we're glad it will be at Fall of Summer 2017!"

Tickets for the French Fall of Summer 2017 festival can be obtained over here. More...

Grave Digger Premieres "Lawbreaker" Music Video

German metal legends Grave Digger, the subject of our most recent Sunday Old School column, has teamed up with Metal Underground.com for the premiere of the new music video "Lawbreaker." The song is taken from the band's latest album "Healed By Metal," which is out now via Napalm Records.

"Lawbreaker" is simply pure true traditional German metal at its finest: bikes, chicks, booze and metal. It evokes the spirit of the music as it was meant to be and Grave Digger has been the flagbearer for traditional metal styles for 36 years.

The band states: "The whole video is a big party. Sweat, Whisky, Girls and Metal! A metal video, wild and loud… that’s the way metal’s gotta be!"

Metal Underground.com is proud to present "Lawbreaker" here:
