Von To Perform At Hole In The Sky
The 2010 edition of the Hole In The Sky festival is set to take place in Bergen, Norway from August 24th - 28th. The organizers have now issued the following update about Von performing at the festival:
"We promised you one surprise act, here is another: One of THE cult acts in the Black Metal Pantheon, the legend that is VON will perform in Bergen during Hole in the Sky 2010. Their two demos 'Satanic Blood' and 'Blood Angel' are among the most unique releases in Black Metal ever, songs like 'Lamb,' 'Devil Pig,' 'Veadtuck,' and 'Watain' have never been copied or bettered in all their minimalistic, hypnotic glory. Founding members Goat and Venien have decided to reform VON for a select number of shows, with Hole in the Sky being one the few festivals."
Comments the band: "Hole in the Sky Festival is a gathering of the Hordes of Norwegian Darkness and Ritual of Chaos, and that in itself is a significant precursor to our involvement and participation. VON is pleased and honored to be included within the ranks of such bands. VON will perform as special guest on the Wednesday dubbed Invocation together with Rotting Christ, Dead Congregation, Repugnant, Grave Miasma and Urfaust."

Abscess Officially Calls It A Day
California death metal act Abscess, which featured Chris Reifert of Autopsy, has issued the following announcement about deciding to call it a day:
"Greetings, sickos. We need to inform you that Abscess has officially broken up. The reason for this is that Clint Bower has left the band for personal reasons and out of respect to him and to all who have supported us for these 16 years, we have decided to call it a day. Without Clint Bower, there can be no Abscess so we won't even try to cheat anyone with something that is not the real thing. 'Dawn of Inhumanity' has become our final statement and we feel that it is the perfect way to close the Abscess chapter since we must do so. Thanks to all of you who were and still are proud to call yourselves Abscess Freaks!
"The other side of this statement is to announce that Autopsy is officially active again. With the line up of Eric Cutler and Danny Coralles on guitars, Chris Reifert on drums/vocals and Joe Trevisano (formerly Allen) on bass, Autopsy is now the full time focus. Longtime friend and bass destroyer Dan Lilker has performed with Autopsy at Maryland Death Fest VIII and will also do so at the upcoming Party San and Hole in the Sky festivals in August of this year before Joe Trevisano takes over full time on bass. A new Autopsy E.P. and full length album are in the works and will be released on Peaceville records along with an upcoming documentary dvd. Also in the works is a new official Autopsy website, so keep your eyes open for that. Any other Autopsy sites or pages out there are fan sites and not run by the band. Again, thanks to all. All we can do is offer more brutality."

Autopsy Dig Up Vintage Video For DVD
The band came up with over 4 hours of material which we've sorted out and made into a, kind of, home movie / road movie type of thing. The quality isn't always the best, in fact it can be downright dodgy - but as anyone who knows the band will tell you, this is classic footage!! At least two whole shows, a rehearsal and tons more unique footage will make this one of the most talked about releases of next year.
