We are trying to raise some funds to put out our new EP entitled, 'Underbelly' which is set to be released in August in time for our East Coast tour around the same time. Sudbury Metal Fest returns for its seventh year supporting Canadian metal with 36 bands from across the country, along with showcasing international talent that includes Negura Bunget and Grimegod from Romania plus Dyanfari from Iceland.
For three days Sudbury, ON will be biggest mosh pit in Canada from October 23 to October 25 with two stages at the Sudbury Events Centre and Asylum, both located at 19 Regent Street. SMF organzier Mark Howitt comments:
"Sudbury Metal Fest has a reputation for showcasing bands that are on the rise and doing big things, and we feel that this year's line up is a solid display of underground and independent bands that Canadian fans need to see live and know about. In the past, bands we have showcased at these events have went on to win Juno awards, and this year we feel is no exception.
"Artists like Exes For Eyes, Thantifaxath, Zaum, and Corrupt Leaders to name just a few, are making big waves and have had appearances at some large festivals in Canada and the US. It is really great to be able to display some of Canada's rising stars all in one event. For the first time, this years line up also has the inclusion of punk and hardcore bands such as the legendary punk band The Ripcordz. We are extremely excited to have brought this unique festival back to life and the response so far has been over the top." More...
The Apex Posts "If Detroit River Could Speak" Clip
Windsor, ON ghetto tech metal band The Apex today unleashes a music video for "If Detroit River Could Speak" in support of the group's debut self-titled album released earlier this year. Drummer Tyson Taylor comments:
"'If Detroit River Could Speak' is about our local area (Windsor/Detroit) and how our economy has declined. It touches upon how this area was rich with automobile manufacturing and the streets were 'paved with gold' before the decline. It’s a feeling as if the story is being told by Detroit River, which divides these '2 cities of rot.'"
The video is directed and edited by Mike Budinsky of Urban Grind Media and can be viewed below. Catch The Apex live on these tour dates:
