Graveshadow Enters Studio To Record New Album
Recently completing a west coast run of shows with Russia’s Arkona and Norway’s Sirenia, Sacramento’s Graveshadow – a male-backed symphonic metal band that incorporates doom, thrash and Goth metal influences - has entered the studio to begin recording the sophomore album and debut for M-Theory Audio.
The band settled into The Captains Quarters in Ventura, California with producer (and Night Demon guitarist) Armand John Anthony.
“The idea came to record with Armand while we were on tour with Night Demon. I got to talking with him and he showed me some of his production work,” explains Graveshadow guitarist Will Walker. “What we really want to accomplish on this album is more of a raw and organic sound while still maintaining the symphonic elements of the music. It was a natural fit. The gear, the room, everything is working out to realize exactly what we were looking for. Armand is an absolute joy to work with and we feel he’s really helping us make this the best it can be.”
Recording will continue over the month of July with plans to release in early 2018 via the new deal with M-Theory Audio. Stay tuned for updates. More...
Graveshadow Kicking Off Tour
Having just completed a U.S. tour opening for Anvil and Nightdemon, now symphonic metal band Graveshadow will begin a west coast tour today in Seattle opening for Russia’s Arkona and Norway’s Sirenia.
“It’s great to be back on the road, especially with bands that have had a profound impact on the genre and us as musicians,” states guitarist Will Walker. “We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones, it promises to be one helluva week!”
In between tours, Graveshadow has continued working on new material for the follow-up to 2015’s :Nocturnal Resurrection," which will be the band's M-Theory Audio debut.
“The new album is shaping up very nicely and all that’s really left is to fine-tune arrangements and continue rehearsing,” continues Will. “We will record in July with Night Demon's Armand [John Anthony - guitarist] and we’re very excited about the project. It’s interesting to see how the new material has developed and we can’t wait to share with everyone. Keep an eye out!” More...
Graveshadow Signs To M-Theory
California symphonic metal band Graveshadow - winner of the 2016 "Sammie" (Sacramento Area Music Awards) for best Metal band – is the latest signing to M-Theory Audio. Since forming at the end of 2012, Graveshadow has created a sound defined by crushing guitars, beautiful keyboard melodies, thundering bass, and earth-shattering drums. The powerful operatic vocals shift into unearthly growls to create a rich and dynamic atmosphere that is ripe for storytelling.
Releasing an EP in 2014, and a full-length, "Nocturnal Resurrection," the following year Graveshadow has toured and played shows with Marty Friedman, Flotsam and Jetsam, Unleash the Archers, Apocalyptica, Children of Bodom, Death Angel, Skinlab, Doyle, Wednesday 13 and John 5.
Graveshadow intends to release a new full-length album by the end of the year, but until recording this summer the band will continue performing live.
"We are extremely excited to be working with Marco and M-Theory. With his status in the industry, belief in this band, and the growing family under the label, we could not think of a better home for our release this year,” states singer Heather Michele. “We are ready to unleash this monster for you all to enjoy, more details soon to come!"
