Background

Headbangers Ball Tour Report & Pics: Worcester, MA
The queue was winding around the corner when I arrived at The Palladium. It was around 7 and the venue was already packed. I was amazed to find out that the crowd was predominantly made up of hardcore kids. I saw only a few painted faces here and there. I remember thinking during the day that it's a very brave decision on behalf of the organizers to mix black metal and hardcore fans and I was convinced ( judging from my overseas experience) that a bunch of fights would ensue. Fortunately, this didn't happen. The American fans seemed tolerant of other people's musical tastes. More...

Arch Enemy - Wacken Open Air 2004 In Review
Arch Enemy singer Angel Gossow has issued the following message to the fans at this year’s Wacken Open Air on the band’s official website http://www.archenemy.net:
“Cheers,
Just wanna drop a few words about Wacken, cuz it was absolutely fantastic for us! A big HELLO and THANK YOU goes out to all the people who have been waiting patiently for us to perform there: We finally made it to this crazy festival! And yes, it was worth the long van-ride down from Sweden! We not only had a fantastic, wild crowd when we played, we were also amazed and shocked by the amount of fans hanging out at the signing tent! Sorry to all those who couldn’t get their stuff signed, but we only had 45 minutes and had to leave on time – the next band was already there waiting for their turn..
We had a packed promo schedule that day, meeting and greeting a hell lot of cool people! I did a metal quiz with the great lady of rock, Mrs. Doro Pesch, met the guys from Hobbs Angel Of Death (cult!), chatted and laughed with Sabina Classen and talked to various members of Destruction, Marduk, Warlock, Hypocrisy, etc.. It takes me about one week to handle all the impressions I got during this lovely sunny Friday at Wacken!
Love, Angela”

Arch Enemy Guitarist Comments On Solo For Kreator
ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott has commented on his guest appearance on the new KREATOR album. Amott has recorded a solo for the song "Murder Fantasies", to be included on KREATOR's upcoming CD, tentatively due in January 2005 through SPV Records.
Says Amott: "This is something I was really happy to do. I get offered to guest on things once in a while, and sometimes I feel right about doing it — this was one of those times for sure! I mean, c'mon…it's fucking KREATOR! I remember hearing the 'Pleasure To Kill' album back in the day and my jaw dropping — the bar had been raised in extreme metal…that was cool as hell! From what I could tell, this song that I played one was a very intense thrash metal song with some MAIDEN-esque harmonies in the middle section — definitely worth checking out!"
KREATOR's as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2001's "Violent Revolution" was recorded and mixed at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap. A specially priced four-song EP will precede the album later this year, featuring previously unreleased live material and non album tracks. Artwork duties will be handled by Austrian artist Jochim Luetke.
Arch Enemy Guitarist Does Guest Solo For Kreator
ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott has recorded a guest solo for the song "Murder Fantasies" off the upcoming KREATOR album, tentatively due January 2005 through SPV Records.
The as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2001's "Violent Revolution", which is being recorded and mixed at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap, is being described by Petrozza as "pure brutal thrash! Tons of fast shit, sick solos, aggro riffing... I am really psyched about the new shit. Can't wait to hear what [the fans] think about it..." A specially priced four-song EP will precede the album later this year, featuring previously unreleased live material and non album tracks. Artwork duties will be handled by Austrian artist Jochim Luetke (www.luetke.com). Check out video clips of the band in the studio during the recording sessions for the new album (Quicktime required): Video#1 (3.55 MB), Video#2 (3.12).

Arch Enemy - Angela Falls Ill, Shows Canceled
ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott has issued the following message via Century Media:
“Hi everyone, some very bad news I'm afraid.... we are in Germany as you know, and after having had some really great shows in the last few weeks, Angela has fallen ill. We had to cancel the gig in Osnabruck last night - we were hoping that she would be better today but her throat has actually got worse, to the point where she can't even speak, let alone sing. I hate to have to say this, but it has now become obvious that we can't do Essen tonight or Antwerp on Friday either. We will meet up again in the U.K on Sunday and finish the tour there.
Our deepest apologies go out to our German and Belgian fans, especially those who had traveled long distances last night to see us in Osnabruck; hopefully those of you with tickets for tonight and tomorrow will see this before you start your journey. Tickets should be refundable from point of purchase, and we are talking to the promoters about trying to reschedule - just watch this space....
Have faith in metal... Michael Amott.”
