"Keeping with the theme of the column (Opposing Elements), we can't agree on everything," Tom writes. "So, while we each offered up three picks unopposed, we'll have to argue about the last four slots on the list."

I might as well just add to the list Kimberly Goss from Sinergy, that for a brief time also played with Dimmu Borgir on tour back in 97 or something after Stian Aarstad, and before Mustis. Also played with Ancient for awhile too. As for Vibeke Stene of Tristania. I'm not sure that she's the lead singer, so they probably wouldn't put her in a category of top female singers, but rather top backup or something. For those of you who might not know Zdenka Prado of Estuary, she sounds like a more brutal & deeper version of Crisis' singer.

I'd have to agree with KMADD here. I've heard Otep's tunes and they're pretty much
nu-death-rap-crap-BS. Ditch the shoddy rapping and Otep would be a passable band. And why all the hate against nu-metal? Obviously this is the music now that draws the younger audience and people who haven't discovered older and heavier metal bands yet. It will be because of these bands that some people will discover metal and start to listen to some other heavier bands.
