The Great Discord Posts New Video
One of the most unique things about Swedish outfit The Great Discord is its visual presentation. Today, the band further expands upon its intriguing and mystifying visuals with a new video for the song "The Aging Man."
The video was directed by Philip Kullgren and edited by Joakim Sjöholm, both from Pellen Productions. Check it out below. The band also comments:
"The video is a mix of a presentation of our band, and a visualization of the concept behind our song, 'The Aging Man.' The idea is that a man, facing his mortality, struggles with his impending death, here personified by Fia's stage persona. Acting as a sort of inverted Saint Peter, or Charon, she is a gatekeeper, a guide, challenging his thoughts and beliefs about what is going to happen, and forces him to face his demons and his regrets. The game of chess is a symbol for this struggle. Welcome to The Great Discord."

Pit Stories: The Zombie Wall Of Death
Flailing limbs, wheelchair crowd surfing, overturned cars, lost teeth, and mid-show coitus - heavy metal has a million and one Pit Stories and we're going to unearth them all!
This week The Great Discord shares the following tale of a shambling zombie wall of death at a Skinless show:
So we went to this Skinless concert in France at the Hellfest festival in 2008. We were standing in the middle of the crowd when the vocalist called for a wall of death. “What a swell idea” we all thought! So the crowd divided itself down the middle, it was probably around two or three thousand people there. They played this sample from the stage about someone having sex with an amputee. The singer instructed everyone not to do this the regular way but rather as a bunch of fumbling zombies.
When the song began it was basically like everyone got drunk at the same time. So we started walking slowly towards each other looking like a bunch of senior citizens with inner ear infections. It took a while, but we reached the other crowd and everyone just kind of leaned on each other, it was bizarre!
We all laughed so much that we didn't notice when the “zombies” turned into a regular mosh pit. An arm came flying out of no where and knocked one of Fia's front teeth out. The dentists had a hard time making it symmetrical again and if you look closely at one of our teasers or videos you can actually notice one of Fia's front teeth sticking out a little further than the other. So thank you Skinless for lulling us into a false sense of security! Awesome show though.

The Great Discord Posts Album Teaser
Sweden has been a fertile ground for metal of all varieties for multiple decades, and there appears to be no sign that this will change anytime soon. The variety and quality of bands is staggering, and Metal Blade Records is prepared to help add The Great Discord to the list of one of Sweden's finest new groups. Metal Blade comments:
"The band's cornerstone is with the enigmatic vocals of Fia Kempe. Her tone and delivery is immensely emotive and is augmented by a band whose sound is impossible to describe. It's technical, heavy, and yet not so much to overwhelm those not anointed in metal. What's important is that The Great Discord offers a truly unique twist on both metal, and what is to be expected from a female-fronted band.
"The uniqueness The Great Discord encapsulates is put on display today with the release of the first teaser from Duende. Part 1 entitled 'Sanguine' gives a brief glimpse into the enigma that is The Great Discord. It features a brief sample of new music with eerie yet perfectly entwined visuals. Check it out below."
