Sanctification Reveals "Black Reign" Album Artwork

Swedish death metallers SANCTIFICATION have revealed the tracklisting and album artwork for their new album, "Black Reign." You can view the album artwork here.

The tracklisting for "Black Reign" is as follows:

"Black Reign" was produced, mixed and mastered at Sweden's Abyss Studio by Tommy and Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain, ex-Bloodbath, etc) together with SANCTIFICATION. "Black Reign" will also to be released in Super Jewel Box CD format.

SANCTIFICATION features members from God Among Insects, In Battle, Soul Drainer and recently Emperor Magus Caligula from Dark Funeral took over the singing duties and replaced Kristoffer Hell.

An announcement for the release date is coming soon. In the meantime, the past recently posted a couple new songs on their MySpace page.

In Battle To Support Marduk In Sundsvall

Sundsvall, Sweden-based death metallers IN BATTLE will support MARDUK in IN BATTLE's hometown on May 24 at Club Destroyer.

IN BATTLE is currently writing material for a new album, tentatively due sometime next year. The group previously described the new material as "extremely intense, brutal, straight-forward. It kind of sounds like a mix between the 'Soul Metamorphosis' MCD with a touch of the first two IN BATTLE albums, so prepare yourselves for this coming whirlwind of destruction!"

IN BATTLE's fifth album will be recorded at Epidemic Productions in Sundsvall.

Sactification Complete Songs For New Album

Swedish death metallers SANCTIFICATION, featuring present/former members of GOD AMONG INSECTS, IN BATTLE and SOULDRAINER, have issued the following update:

"All the 9 songs for the album are done and the rehearsals are in full progress."

"We are trying to get the pieces together with (drummer) Tony (Laureano - DIMMU BORGIR, ex-NILE, ANGELCORPSE) now but it is not easy since he is on the road with Dimmu Borgir, and the time table can be a bit tight for rehearsals and so on."

"We do have a backup plan but Tony is our first choice so we hope that we will be able to solve this."

Zonaria Check In From The Road

Umeå, Sweden-based melodic death metal quartet ZONARIA is currently on the road as part of the Vanitas Balkans 2008 tour alongside MARDUK, IN BATTLE and ARTISIAN. The group has checked in with the following update:

In Battle Announce Working Title For New Album

Sundsvall, Sweden-based death metallers IN BATTLE have set "Flames & Death" as the working title of their fifth album. According to the band, five songs have already been completed for the effort, which will be recorded next year at Epidemic Productions in Sundsvall. The new material will be "furious fast and wicked heavy," says the group. "The songs will be, as always, variated and bombastic with hints of black, thrash and death metal. This album will kick all religions' ass and we will fuck 'em up totally with this album!! We'll bring you pure hate!"

IN BATTLE recently recruited session drummer Tony Westermark, from the Sundsvall technical death metal band SOREPTION.

The group's fourth album, "Kingdom of Fear", was released on September 3 via Nocturnal Art Productions/Candlelight Records. The follow-up to 2004's "Welcome to the Battlefield" was recorded at Epidemic studios in Sundsvall and was mixed by UNLEASHED's Fredrik Folkare at Chrome studios in Stockholm. The CD contains "11 songs of raw trashy death metal," according to a press release. Two video clips for the album have been filmed: "Kingdom of Fear" and "The Dead Shall See".

In Battle Announce New Session Drummer

Sundsvall, Sweden-based death metallers IN BATTLE have issued the following update:

"IN BATTLE announce new session drummer Tony Westermark, known from Sundsvall technical death metal band SOREPTION.

"We are proud to announce that we have found this young and extreme talent drummer for our upcomming tours. First up is the MARDUK tour in the Balkans. Later on in 2008 we got two more offrerings Europe and the U.S. More info to be announced later.

"So what about Nils [Fjellström, previous drummer] then... Hmm, we don't know. We have not heard anything from him since September. He has moved to his girlfriend in Austria and what we know [is] he [doesn't] want to be reached so we will bother him no more with mail bombs and so on; he is got to take contact with us if he wants anything...

"We are searching for labels who want to do the re-release of the two first IN BATTLE albums — the first one, [which] was released in 1997, 'In Battle', and the second one, 'Rage of the Northmen', released in 1998. Both of them [are] out of stock and we got mails almost everyday from people who wants to buy them, so we will do a remastering and new cover and release them again!!"

Rutan also laid down a guest solo on the album.

Sanctification Bring In Tony Laureano On Drums

SANCTIFICATION, the Swedish death metal band featuring current/members of GOD AMONG INSECTS, IN BATTLE and SOULDRAINER, has recruited Tony Laureano (DIMMU BORGIR, ex-NILE, ANGELCORPSE) to lay down the drum tracks for the group's long-awaited second album. The recording sessions for the as-yet-untitled CD will take place next spring at the Abyss Studios in Sweden. A summer/fall 2008 release via Pulverised Records is expected.

SANCTIFICATION parted ways with drummer Nils Fjellström earlier in the year due to "his busy schedule with DARK FUNERAL," according to a press release.

Commented the band: "The loss of Nils was a big one but this feels like a fresh start for us, and we are very happy and honoured that Tony wants to do this with us. He is a great guy and a fantastic drummer, so this feels absolutely awesome. The writing of the album is in full progress and as soon as all the songs are done we will start to plan the recording accordingly."

In Battle To Tour With Marduk

Sundsvall, Sweden-based death metallers IN BATTLE will support MARDUK on their Balkan tour in 2008, with stops in such countries as Austria, Greece and Turkey. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.

Former In Battle Drummer Took His Own Life

Sundsvall, Sweden-based death metallers IN BATTLE have issued the following statement regarding their former drummer who reportedly had passed away in August:

"IN BATTLE wants to announce that their longtime friend and drummer Otto Wiklund, born October 18, 1976 and died August 13, 2006, has passed away by his own hand...

"Otto Wiklund was a great drummer and did record the debut album of IN BATTLE (1997) and the second album, 'Rage of the Northmen' (1998). He also was the session drummer for SETHERIAL in 1998 and recorded the 'Lords of the Nightrealm' album.

"Otto Wiklund's memory will be honored on the upcoming [fourth] IN BATTLE album, 'Kingdom of Fear', which will be released through Nocturnal Art Productions/Candlelight Records in mid-November this year? with material that Otto Wiklund wrote for IN BATTLE.

"I ofred vi drar fram!! I OTTO's Namn!"

IN BATTLE's latest album, "Welcome to the Battlefield" (2004, Cold/Metal Blade Records), was recorded at Courthouse Studio in ?stersund, Sweden and at Necromorbus Studio in Stockholm, Sweden. The CD was mixed and mastered at Erik Rutan's (HATE ETERNAL/ex-MORBID ANGEL guitarist) Mana Recording Studios in Tampa, Florida with engineer Shawn Ohtani. Former In Battle Drummer Passes

Swedish death metallers IN BATTLE have issued the following statement: "This post is a memory of Otto Wiklund who passed away on August 13th, 2006. Otto was the drummer on In Battle (1997, Napalm Records) and Rage Of The Northmen (1998, Napalm Records). Eternal hails from In Battle! See you on the other side."

Norway's Nocturnal Art Productions, who inked a new deal with In Battle this past April, will release the follow-up to 2004's Welcome To The Battlefield called Kingdom Of Fear, later this year.

In Battle Leave Cold Records

Sundsvall, Sweden-based death metallers IN BATTLE have officially parted way with Cold Records. The band are currently seeking a new label home prior to the release of their fourth album, "Terrorkings". IN BATTLE recently completed a pre-production recording at Epidemic studio in Sundsvall and are planning on recording the upcoming album with producer Peter T?gtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN) in late October before mixing the effort with Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL, ex-MORBID ANGEL) at Erik's Mana studio in Florida. According to the group, the next CD will contain "a lot of variation and heavy parts but [will] still [be] brutal and fast as ever before."

IN BATTLE's third full-length album, "Welcome to the Battlefield", was released last September through Cold/Metal Blade Records.

In Battle Working On New Material

In Battle are working on some new material for the next album hope to be released in late 2005. The In Battle website has been updated with some video clips during the summer festivals.

In Battle has now a new session guitarist Tomas Elofsson (God Among Insects) who will be joining the band on the “Sworn Allegiance tour 2004“ with Swedish Death Metal Kings Unleashed (Nov. 25 -Dec. 3). In Battle are also working on a videoclip of the song “Soul Metamorphosis“ and will be out for downloading on the website when it's ready.
