Embryo Debuts New Video "Darkest Lights"

Italian melodic death Embryo is sharing the first glimpse of brutality from their forthcoming fifth album "A Vivid Shade On Misery," which features the band's recruitment of international drumming powerhouse George Kollias (Nile) for its recording. Due out on March 17th, 2023 via Rockshots Records, Embryo shares its first single "Darkest Lights" accompanied by a music video. The track is melodic, but with an unforgettable groove. You can check it out below.

"A Vivid Shade On Misery" follows the band's 2017's "A Step Beyond Divinity" (Art Gates Records), 2015's Self-Titled (logic(il)logic Records) that featured Fleshgod Apocalypse's drummer Francesco Paoli, 2010's "No God Slave" and their 2006 debut "Chaotic Age."

Since the band's inception, Embryo has toured across Europe with Melechesh, Keep of Kalessin, Tribulation, Nile, Immolation, Ragnarok, Monuments Of Misanthropy, and Suffocation along with performing on festivals such as Masters of Rock (CZ), and Total Metal Festival (Italy).

Embryo began writing their fifth offering in 2020 with George Kollias and entered the Domination Studio in July 2021 with producer Simone Mularoni, and engineer Simone Bertozzi.

Monolithic, intense, powerful, technical, and melodic this new album features eight brand new tracks and is another concept album like its predecessor "A Step Beyond Divinity." The band is inspired by historical Italian figures of the Renaissance era and their tormented lives, their absolute genius, and the gifts they gave to the world. While the previous album "A Step Beyond Divinity" was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci, this new work is totally inspired by Michelangelo Merisi alias Caravaggio, an Italian painter active in Rome for most of his artistic life.

"With "A Vivid Shade On Misery" we want to have listeners dive into our world by giving them brutal and atmospheric music melted together in the way we love to do plus having Kollias drum on this new album, one of the best drummers in the world, is just an absolute honour. Overall, fans will find this album has the "Embryo" matrix, there's no doubt about that. It will be a more direct record and its songs make up a pattern that takes the listener on a journey through torments and anxieties, but which at the same time gives him pure energy." adds the band. Nile And Melechesh Unearth Darkness In Bristol

The Bierkeller in Bristol has hosted some of the most respected names in rock, metal, hardcore and punk over the years. It's an ideal venue to welcome these bands too, as it can hold around seven hundred people, with plenty of space, yet feel like an intimate concert, not least because it's not uncommon to see members of the groups walking around, drinking and taking photos with the crowd. All this made it pretty much perfect for the night's show, as American death metal veterans Nile brought their What Should Not Be Unearthed tour to Britain's seventh largest city, and with them, Jerusalemite black metallers Melechesh and Italian death metal act, Embryo.

It was Embryo who kicked off the evening's festivities, taking to the stage with only a small audience to perform to. Right from the start, they let the crowd know just what they had before them: Five hungry young men whose appetite for death metal was insatiable. There's a lot to enjoy about this band, whose brutality is married to a groove many attempt, but few can capture. As the number of people in the venue grew, so too did the appreciation for the band, who maintained a professional demeanour, despite their clear joy to be a part of such a tour. While they may not be a household name (in households who listen to extreme music anyway,) Embryo could yet become one of Italy's most beloved metal bands if they continue their quality songwriting and live intensity. Embryo Details Self-Titled Third Album

Italian melodic death metal act Embryo detailed the upcoming new release "Embryo," which will feature guest drums by Fleshgod Apocalypse drummer Francesco Paoli. The band's third studio effort is set for release on February 10th, 2015 via logic(il)logic Records.

The album is described as "a step forward in the evolution of the band: the mechanical death metal riffs that characterized 'No God Slave' [2010] gained depth and melodic accents without losing heaviness and impact; musical arrangements have become more complex going from classical instruments and symphonic choirs to electronic noises and samples, giving the songs new hints at every new listening."

Lyrically, “Embryo” is a descent into the maelstrom of human soul 'til the door to the abyss that is the denial of being part of mankind. The influences are the same: Meshuggah, Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad, but with a complete refusal of vocal melodies and a singular arrangements approach.

The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni (DGM, Empyrios, The Modern Age Slavery, Vision Divine...). The sound is heavy, modern, balanced, a fist of death metal that will blast your stereo and your ears!

The track list for the album is:

1. An Awkward Attempt
2. The Pursuit Of Silence
3. Manipulate My Consciousness
4. Insane Lucidity
5. The End Of The Beginning
6. Embryo
7. The Touch Of Emptiness
8. The Door To The Abyss
9. My Pounding Void
10. Fragments Of Utopia
11. I Am Pure Hate More...
