Vocalist Patrick Anthony tells Punknews.org: "While the video for 'Altruistic Lung' is mostly a performance video, we decided to choose something as simple as a flower to represent the message behind the song. Hollow Bones Posts "Altruistic Lung"

New York melodic metal/hardcore quintet Hollow Bones today launches brand new track, "Altruistic Lung," taken from the band's upcoming debut album "Lionheart." Stream the third song to surface from the May 27th release below.

"'Altruistic Lung' is one of the more raw songs on the album, thematically, and musically the most ambient," vocalist Patrick Anthony told Revolver. "It deals with self-hatred, and the anxieties that those feelings can create when falling in love. We hope that the emotions we meant to convey come across adequately, and we hope that people are able to connect with the song. Fight for the people you love, and hold onto them the best that you can."

Over a year in the making, "Lionheart" was mixed, mastered and engineered by Randy Pasquarella at Pasquarella Recordings and self-produced by Hollow Bones with Pasquarella's assistance. More...

Pit Stories: A Gift Of Violence

It's Tuesday again already? How about another epic Pit Story then?

This week we get a tale from Hollow Bones, reminiscing about a chaotic night where a crowd of music fanatics came together to send off a beloved band with a frenzied gift of violence! Hollow Bones vocalist Patrick Anthony tells the story like this:

The year was 2014. We were at the Loft for Breathtaker’s farewell show. The glory days of Poughkeepsie shows had long since passed. Tuesday night local shows, with a turnout of 200 kids was a distant memory clung to desperately by veterans of the local scene. However, when some of those veterans happened to be in a band that had been around since the aforementioned glory days is throwing a farewell show, people come out. They come out in droves, and they come out to fucking party.

This was one of those occasions that will go down as a legendary night in local show history. The crowd was warmed up throughout the night by all the other local bands, but the moment Breathtaker came out on stage, the entire room turned utterly violent. One of our friends started moving the pit from one end of the room, all the way to the bar in the next room over, then came back swinging, jumped onto the stage, kicked a number of people in the face, all before diving face first into a sea of swinging fists. At one point there wasn’t even a pit in the general sense of the word. It was just people fighting each other. Punching each other in the back of the head, in the face, kicking each other, falling down, getting stomped on, etc. and at the end of it all, no one was mad. No one took any of that anger away with them. We offered it up to our friends as a gift for their last performance.

It was like all of those nostalgic feelings that people held onto were being manifested that night on the floor of the Loft, while a soundtrack of breakdowns played over everything. It was pure and utter chaos. There have been plenty of shows that all of us had been to for bigger bands that had awesome pits, where people climbed on each other, and swung hard. But this was special. This was our night to relive our memories, and send our friends off the best way that we could.

Hollow Bones will self-release new album "Lionheart" on May 27th, 2016. The album can be pre-ordered now at this location. More...

Hollow Bones will self-release "Lionheart" on May 27th. The album can be pre-ordered now at this location. The band comments:

"We are incredibly proud to present our debut album 'Lionheart.' It took us over a year to get everything we wanted, and although it was a long wait, we couldn't be happier with the final product. We hope that the passion we put into making this album rings true with people who are looking to find solace in music.

"We hope that people hear the words we are saying and are inspired to take action, or are relieved in knowing they are not alone and that others have felt the way they do and that there is reprieve. Our mission from the beginning has always been, and will always be, to find people who are as passionate about music as we are about creating it. Promote what you love, and use music to heal."

Hollow Bones Posts New Video

Empire State melodic metalcore quintet Hollow Bones has a new music video out now for "The November Diaries," taken from the band's upcoming debut album "Lionheart."

"'The November Diaries' was one of the first songs to be written for the album, and is by far one of the most aggressive," Hollow Bones vocalist Patrick Anthony told Lambgoat.com "The song deals a lot with guilt, frustration, and anger about one's own self. It is a very personal song, and because of that, it had to be honest in order to be effective. We hope that the raw feelings we put into the song come across as intended."

Last year Hollow Bones launched a music video for the first "Lionheart" single, "Drytooth," which can be seen here. In our exclusive premiere of the video, vocalist Patrick Anthony commented:

"Thematically 'Drytooth' is very dark. I lost my brother in 2007, and the song is really about not being able to move past it. Carrying around the weight of not knowing whether it was an intentional death or not. It is about the hole in your life that someone can leave, regardless of how or why you have lost them. It is about watching someone you love suffer through tremendous depression, and being powerless to do anything. More...

Hollow Bones Premieres New Music Video

Previously known as Edenborn, New York outfit Hollow Bones is officially relaunching today with the release of a new music video for the "Drytooth" single, and Metalunderground.com is proud to be exclusively premiering the clip online.

"Drytooth" - a track about overcoming great loss - is taken off the upcoming "Lionheart" album, which is now written and will soon be recorded. The video can be seen below, and vocalist Patrick Anthony comments:

"The shooting of Drytooth was a great experience, albeit very tiring. We probably put on a full performance of the song about 40 times over the course of the day to ensure that we got all the footage we could need. Of course it was fun, and there was joking around, but it was also a lot of work.

"There were some very specific shots that we wanted to have in the video that incorporated design elements from cinematography, so there was a lot of discussion on how to get those shots. The guy who did the filming, Michael DeFilio, was great. He is based out of CT, which is where we shot the video, in an old abandoned Hummer dealership. I don’t know how he went about getting permission for us to shoot there, but he did, haha. He REALLY worked his butt off for us, and I think it really comes through in the video.

"Thematically the song is very dark.

"The song ends with my admission that I would have preferred to have taken his place. The song is about hopelessness, anger, frustration, guilt, and longing, and we hope that we have clearly conveyed those feelings, because I think everyone has, or will, lose someone dear to them. I think it is a very relatable subject." More...
