Nibiru Reveals New Album Details

Italian doom metal outfit Nibiru has announced that they will be releasing a new album entitled, "Salbrox" through Ritual Productions this May, with a release date to be confirmed shortly.

Titled "Salbrox," meaning "Sulfur" in the Enochian language of which the band profess, the rite is a cataclysmic psychic journey of visionary magick, elemental prophecies and esoteric supernormality. Tribal percussion, evocative mantras and hypnotic drones imbued with the band's amalgamation of black metal, doom metal and psychedelic textures formulates a fascinating, idiosyncratic art. Vocals harbour a possessed and rasping quality that surely summon spectres far beyond our comprehensible realm, bringing forth a divination of the self.

Conceptually and spiritually, "Salbrox" is inspired by the continuous re-adjustment between disharmony and balance. "Salbrox" aims, via mysterious and enigmatic practices that reflect an ouroboros quality of death of rebirth, to explore the transmutation and regeneration of the human being that occurs at every level - spirit, soul and corporeality. Nibiru Recording New Album

Psychedelic ritual sludge trio Nibiru will enter the studio this month to begin recording a new full-length album. Frontman Ardat comments:

“After the release of the ‘Teloch’ 12” EP as a four-piece in spring 2016, we will enter MusicLab Studio to record our new effort live in the studio in February 2017. The new album, called ‘Qaal Babalon,’ will be the perfect incarnation of Nibiru as power trio.

"Working with the drummer L.C. Chertan we found harmony, professionalism, accuracy and anger. According to me and Ri, a lot of rage is essential. Our new music emerged from the deep with no effort. We do not love the peace of soul.

“The songs were written between October 2016 and January 2017. We are very happy about the result. Nibiru came back to our roots, to a sound that is ours. Since the beginning this kind of sound is a Nibiru trademark. Psychedelic, ritualism, noise were, are, and will be Nibiru. The album will be ready in spring 2017. In profundum laci." More...

Nibiru Parts Ways With Guitarist

Italian cosmic ritual sludge act Nibiru just announced the departure of guitars player Siatris. Frontman Ardath explains in a statement:

“In the last weeks I discussed with the other band members about the past, the present and the future of Nibiru. We dealt with our priorities, goals and ambitions. We are currently working on a new album to be ready by the end of the year, and we have some important shows booked.

"We have to part ways with Siatris because we noticed that our future goals are different. Nibiru needs to work with motivated and passionate people. We will continue as power trio, as we do not want to add a second guitar player."

Nibiru Recruits New Drummer

Italian psychedelic sludge band Nibiru announces today the recruitment of new drummer L.C. Chertan (Origod). L.C. had this to say:

“Since the first time I listened to Nibiru I’ve been impressed by the huge emotional and spiritual blast they are able to create. When they asked me to join the band, I agreed in order to improve as a drummer, confronting myself with a very different style from my post-hardcore band Origod. Thanks to Nibiru, I can emotionally express the deepest and darkest side of myself."

Vocalist/guitarist Ardath adds: "L.C. Chertan from Origod officially joins Nibiru. It’s not easy to find a bond with our music and three ‘outside the box’ people like us, but L.C. Chertan made it. After just a few rehearsals we have found what we were looking for: more power and relentless energy also on stage, as we have some important live shows to be announced soon. Siatris will support me as guitarist and vocalist, just like he did during ‘Padmalotus’ recording sessions. Nibiru will show no mercy."

The band's album, "Padmalotus," was released via Argonauta Records on May 18, 2015 and can be heard below. More...

Nibiru Posts Second Webisode For New Album

The second in a series of webisodes leading up to the release of "Padmalotus," the third album from the Italian ritual psychedelic trio Nibiru, can be seen below.

This trailer features the song “Ashmadaeva," with the band commenting: “The name Asmodai is believed to derive from Avestan language *aešma-daeva, where aešma means ‘wrath’, and daeva signifies ‘demon’. This track contains a particular ambivalence. On one side the raw power of the classic sound of Nibiru and on the other side it incorporates a thrilling dark ambient with particular instruments like gong and didgeridoo.

“This is the first track we wrote during the new Nibiru ‘way’. We took more care of its structure, even if we did not lose our love for the improvisation. After the creation of this song, we decided to create a record quite different, compared to the previous albums."

Due on May 18th via Argonauta Records, the "Padmalotus" track listing is as follows:

1. Krim
2. Ashmadaeva
3. Trikona
4. Khem. More...

Nibiru Reveals New Album

Italian ritual psych sludge act Nibiru (not to be confused with the New York or California bands of the same name) today reveals the cover artwork for new album “Padmalotus,” due to be released by Argonauta Records on May 18th, 2015. The track listing is as follows:

4. Khem.

"Padmalotus" was recorded at Aadya’s Temple, then mixed and mastered by Emiliano “Pilloplex” Pilloni at Soundlab Studio. Drummer / guitarist Siatris comments:

“'Padmalotus' does not represent a step forward compared to 'Netrayoni' or "Caosgon,' but a move to a higher level. As the lotus grows out of mud, blossoms above the water and rises to the sky, our latest album is a real elevation compared to our previous ones. We stayed true to our roots, but at the same time we stepped into a new territory." More...
